hey! just to keep you guys updated, fae and I are working through the applications, and we'll let you guys know whats going on soon

therefore, if you want to apply and have not done so, please do so ASAP. just as a reminder, PLEASE FILL OUT THE APPLICATIONS IN THE CORRECT FORMAT, IE BY LISTING THE POSITIONS IN ORDER OF PREFERENCE.

NOT EVERYONE CAN HAVE THE POSITION THEY WANTED AS THEIR FIRST CHOICE, SO WE NEED TO HAVE A FALL BACK OPTION. PRIORITY IS BEING GIVEN TO THOSE PEOPLE WHO FILLED OUT APPS CORRECTLY.

by not giving us other options, you are limiting your own chances of getting your ideal post.

1-Reporter: I am a reporter for my school newspaper and contributes numerous articles. I have plenty of articles if anyone is interrested in viewing.
3-Runner: Exceptionally good at photography and using resources to find photos and facts, yet not specifically interrested in this position.

Letter of Intent
I have been writing since a very young age. Journalism has sparked a passion for writing. I am expreienced in writing for a prestigious high school newspaper. This outlet has provided me with expression through writing inquisitive pieces. I am also ready for any challenges the position puts me through. I am very adaptive and gifted at changing problems into positive outcomes.

This is a condensed version of an article I wrote for the online edition of our newspaper.

Our High School is 'Kite Runner' crazy

It seems "The Kite Runner" has swept over the sophomore curriculum of our high school. From assemblies to classrooms, this Read Across Rhode Island book has taken over the English department.
Ms. Julie Bisbano organized one part of the first assembly for the sophomore class and presented a PowerPoint presentation. Also during that assembly, English teacher Ms. Derektor arranged for a professional dancer to show the sophomores traditional Afghan dancing. Even some brave students joined her on stage for a step-by-step instruction on her dancing techniques.
For the second assembly, the high school's sophomores were connected via television along with other schools across Rhode Island for a interview with the author and a short questionnaire. Ms. Bisbano comments on the assembly. "I feel that the forum lent itself to people being rude." Sophomore Kimberly -------- says she may have an explanation as to why the sophomore class was a little too rowdy. "They took about 25 minutes to hook up the equipment so we could watch live. We had to sit and watch random people come on and off the screen...I am sorry for the few people being rude and talking during the author's time on-screen." Although there were students talking, the discussion with the author was a success and provided the students with a better understanding of the novel.

i'm behind in the first two questions, but i'm pretty sure that we will be announcing the members. i don't know about pm-ing each applicant, and in my personal opinion, high post counts mean nothing.

as far as announcing the staff, it will be done (i think, we havent solidified this yet) by a post in this thread. PMing the applicants would take a while, and im rather lazy, so that idea is out the window

Sex Braclets
Whats the deal?

Since the 50's teenagers have been rebelling against societies ideals and morals, by drinking, smoking, doing drugs but now there is a new way to achieve their goal- Sex Braclets. Teenagers live by them and Parents cant stand them. But what are they? Are they just a new fashion hitting the streets of New York or are they really promoters of sexual intercourse. The reporters of CB hit the streets to find out what infact are these Braclets. We interviewed 16 year old Rita and asked her what her pink braclet meant, " the pink [braclet] means that a girl has to flash [her breast]". We then asked her if she had ever flashed while wearing the braclet " no we dont do any of what the braclet "says" its just cool to wear". So should parents be worried about these "sex" braclets or is it just a phase, we cant tell you that but all we can say is that the braclets have been selling like hot cakes in many cities around America and it looks like theyll be here for a while.
