recently I was listening to a song and it had imitated dripping of somethign into a pool. I was thinking about xanga layout when I was listening to this and was wondering if i could make a photoshop like this.

is it possible to make something like an ellipse, and then make a ripple effect, and then make it look 3d, and then make it look something in perspective? blink.gif

you know, kinda like... blood... dripping into a small pool... with a ripple effect... and you're looking at it around chin level about 2 feet away.

It is possible with PS7. But it'll be easier if you have 3D Studio Max 5. I think I know how to make this water effect. I'll see to it when I get home. ^^;;

you know you can make a ripple effect with adobe
because you can pretty much also make the 3d shape to go with it
and make the whole water thing..
with adobe anything that deals with image is possible

the problem is, ripple doesn't have a centralized ripple - meaning it only ripples the edges. (at least from my experiences.) You know how when you let a drop of water fall into a small pond the waves spread out from that point? thats what i want to do, but so far I haven't discovered a way to do it with photoshop EXCEPT zigzag, which doesn't leave the edges intact.

A filter called ALIENSKIN EYECANDY has an awesome effect for pools of water with the 3 dimensional look. It's online somewhere and downloadable if you enter a search for it.

sandyncandy
they have it in their downloads/filters section

as far as everything else. i'd personally do it all by hand if i were you by animating it in psp frame by frame image by image. it'd be tedious but you get what you want in the final product.

also i'd probably flip between psp and adobe.
