Wellll, me and my friend were just wondering this because once I went into this room and this Newbie double posted and everyone was like screaming [well, maybe not screaming... just saying in a mean way] at the poor guy ["Ugh, don't double next time. _dry.gif "] but then I went into another room and this guy with like 2,000 posts triple-posted but no one said a thing. blink.gif Be honest!!!

Hmm I think that happens because some people aren't to fond of newbies. Uh idk.

I know what you mean...sometimes these "n00bs" deserve some slack sometimes..idk, I try to be nice about it. But about more posts more respect--no way. Some of the people with the most posts are the least respected on here. Just because some of the posts they make are incredibly pointless and spamming.

As you accumulate more posts, you gain more respect from teh members. If you're a newbie that double posts, no one knows... you could've signed up strictly for spamming. So as you become more well known through your posts, you gain a certain reputation (whether it be good or bad).

Well I always spot them and when I do I just automatically tell them not to do it again.

The person with the 10,000 posts obviously knows what going on, if not knows more about cb than the noob.

Hmm... i'm not too sure about the more post=more respect thing. It just mean that you have been really active, but it doesn't mean that people will like/respect you. Probably, the members are somewhat "scared" to tell the popular people on CB not to spam. Eh, that's just what i think.

ehhh, the only reason a person that triple posted and didn't get yelled at is probably:

A) He is not a newbie (And most people don't like newbies that much)
B) Has a good quality of a post (thought may not be a good reason)
C) Or the person's computer lags, alot, and the person may have to press the 'Add Reply' two or three times to work.

Those are all my reasons. mellow.gif

cause teh more posts you have peopele get to know you better and they become your friend so you don't really want to yell at them

the only member with over 10000 posts (i think) is susan, and she definitely isnt respected. but maybe for the most part. youre just more known if you post more. for example, i was most well known and liked during my post whore period, but then attention always shifts to the new post whores like james. this is to be expected. theyre also more respected the older they are. which, of course, may also be because they were actually cool and deserved it, but still. thus, this leaves me in the middle, as deserving a bit of respect for being a mod with 7000something posts and a middling old join date, but not as much as others, because im not the cool kid of the moment or a really old member

meh, i really dont know what im talking about.

Honestly, I don't think Susan spams that much anymore. The only time she went on a posting-spree was a longgg time ago. I don't see why people think she's sucha spammer nowadays.

well, from what I've seen in a few forums i'm in, that happens way too much. The person who has the most or 2nd most posts get the most attention, and are always excused from spamming, which is most of the time. It really pisses me off at times, but heh, I gotta live with it.
As for cB, it doesn't really happen... or at least, from what I know of

If you compare it to 3 posts, no. unless it's like some person who has been on cb forever and just made a new account and made 3 posts on it, that's another story.
But I'd compare it to like 200 to 5,000. I'd respect whichever one is my friend.. nicer.. funnier and doesn't spam as much. :P

i agree. I mean what is the point in double posting, if there is an edit button? if u do it on purpose, thats just stupid... stubborn.gif

maybe a little. if all the posts that they make are good, then obviously i'm going to respect them a little more. because it shows they're mature enough to be able to handle posting faithfully and well.

i still believe i'm relatively new to this site, and i know that when i first got here, i thought that anyone with 500+ posts knew the site front and back. now that i've been here for .. maybe 2 months and accumulated more than 200 posts, the "wow" reaction kinda died.

and now, my respect level for a person depends on how much effort they put into their posts to make it easy for the reader to digest (that sounds weird) and if their point is logical or not.

it depends. some people have a lot of posts that arent very helpful at all and are inappropriate. others have a lot of posts that relate to the topic. also, the more post you have, the more people will know you. so yes it does, a little.
