^ Haha, you just spoiled the whole thing for everyone, but oh well.

Yeah, in the Da Vinci Code, Mary Magdalene is the Holy Grail. You'd have to read the book to understand that. Mind you, that novel is full of crap.

Actually, Mary Magdalene wasn't a prostitute, at least they never mention it explicitly. She's gotten a bad rap because her story just so happens to follow that of a repentent whore.

QUOTE(wikipedia.org)
Tradition as early as the 3rd century identified as Mary Magdalene the woman who was a sinner in Luke 7:36-50:

" 37 And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster box of ointment,
38 And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment."

Though there is no connection made in the New Testament, nor is the woman in the house of the Pharisee given a name, the idea that Mary was "the woman who was a sinner", or that she was unchaste [read: whore], was developed by the Patristic writers of the 3rd and 4th centuries. This idea is rejected by most Protestants. Catholics, on the other hand, consider this one person to be, not only the sinner of Luke 7:36-50 but also Mary of Bethany, the sister of Martha and the resurrected Lazarus (Luke 10:38-42 and John 1:10); although the Roman Catholic Church withdrew from this linkage at the Second Vatican Council (1969) it survives strongly in folk Catholicism.

Actually, what most of the people above said sums up what I wanted to say.

Sometimes prostitutes can be religious too, because some of them are being forced to become prostitutes, not as their own will.

"In popular Christian tradition Mary Magdalene is a prostitute who finds redemption by apprenticing herself to Jesus. And she figures most noticeably in the Fourth Gospel, as being present on the crucifixion of Jesus, and where she is the first person to behold Jesus after the Resurrection. Mary Magdalene is not, at any point in any of the Gospels, said to be a prostitute. When she is first mentioned in the Gospel of Luke, she is described as a woman 'out of whom went seven devils'. It is generally assumed that this phrase refers to a species of exorcism on Jesus' part, implying the Magdalene was possessed. But the phrase may equally refer to some sort of conversion and/or ritual initiation."

WOW im confused... who the heck is she? is she the girl who birth to Jesus? >.<; and i hear "out of the devils" im very confused. ok time to hit the google. Oh nevermind...

She was an important disciple and witness for Jesus.

Ah I see. But there's no more than other historical information about her. That's sad...

A new novel forces people to confront a biblical puzzle. Was Mary Magdalene Mrs. Jesus?

WHAT?!?!? LOL what kind of question is that? does that mean they were in love... impossible.

Mary Magdalene is mentioned in the Gospels as being among the women of Galilee who followed Jesus and His disciples, and who was present at His Crucifixion and Burial, and who went to the tomb on Easter Sunday to annoint His body. She was the first to see the Risen Lord, and to announce His Resurrection to the apostles. Accordingly, she is referred to in early Christian writings as "the apostle to the apostles."

oh I see again. She's the girl who saw the angeles....
Ah she's the girl who washed Jesus feet with her hair and her tears!! Ah that's her name? oops.... lol I forgot >.<;; yeah I'm lacking from reading the bible which is not good *cough*

Jesus had cast out "seven demons" from her seven?!?!?!?!?! wow...... that's scary >.<;;;;;;;;; seven demons in one body. how is that possible, then she would've been posessed. but i dont think they mentioned that in the bible.. i dont remember reading that stuff. I guess she would be a prostitute after reading azn_pnoy_boi's comment. I mean she was possessed. So i guess she was a prostitute. I wonder why they had to edit a lot of words in the bible.. I wish they didn't missed out on anything.
