whats the difference between adobe photoshop and image ready? are they basically the same thing? and also, which one are you supposed to use to create image maps..??

well, one this that photoshop cannot do and imageready can is that, image ready can make things fade, blink, and anime. photoshop is like editing photos.

image ready and photoshop are supposed to be used togther bascially. photoshop is mostly for jpgs and stuff.... and more advanced photomanipulations and stuff (i personally use it more for making backgrounds n stuff) and then image ready is more for webimages and animations. many tutorials will use them together to make things work a lot better

Imageready is great for creating images and layouts for the web. It allows you to slice, animate, and even create rollovers with your images. I use it for all my stuff. Photoshop is best for its photo editing and all the filters to create interesting effects with your images. Usually, if you want to turn these images to web images, that's when you would switch to ImageReady.

You can animate with Adobe ImageReady and it should come with Adobe Photoshop. You can also get it seperately.
