Okay, I searched for a topic about this but there wasn't one or I just didn't search the right keywords.

I'm just writing so that you girls are aware about this. Even though you may not be old enough to go clubbing, you still will know about it when you are old enough as it's becoming less rare. If this isn't pg13 then feel free to do whatever you have to do. I just searched stuff about it and bung it altogether

Date Rape Drug

What are date rape drugs?
Any substance that renders you incapable of saying no or asserting yourself and your needs can be used to commit rape. The term 'date rape drug' usually applies to drugs Rohypnol, Gamma Hydroxy Butyrate (GHB) and Ketamine Hydrochloride.

Why do these drugs make effective date rape drugs?
There are many factors that make these drugs desirable to sexual predators. The drugs are virtually undetectable; they are tasteless, odorless and colorless. All traces of the drugs will leave the body within 72 hours of ingestion and are not found in any routine toxicology screen or blood test. They make the victim unconscious but responsive with little/no memory of what happens while the drug is active in their system. The drugs also make the victim act often in a sexual or physically affectionate way. Like most drugs, date rape drugs make a person incapable of thinking clearly or making an appropriate decision. This makes a victim one who is still able to play a role in what is happening but who will have no clear memory of what happened. Without any memory of events the victim is often unaware that they have even been raped, and if they are aware or have suspicions they make very poor witnesses.

There are some simplemodifications you can make to ensure that you do not fall into consuming a date rape drug. To protect yourself always follow these simple rules:

- Don't accept open drinks (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) from others who you do not know or do not trust; this includes drinks that come in a glass.
- When in bars or clubs always get your drink directly from the bartender and do not take your eyes off the bartender or your order; don't use the waitress or let somebody who you don't trust go to the bar for you.
- At parties, only accept drinks in close containers: bottles, cans or tetra packs.
- Never leave your drink unattended or turn your back on your table.
- Do not drink from open beverage sources like punch bowls, pitchers or tubs with people who you don't know/trust.
- Keep your eyes and ears open; if there is talk of date rape drugs or if friends seem "too intoxicated" for what they have taken, leave the party or club immediately and don't go back!

How quickly does it act on/leave the system?
It is quick acting, with noticeable effects occurring within 20 minutes of ingestion. Mixed without alcohol the effects last 8 - 12 hours, with alcohol the effects last longer, up to 36 hours. After ingestion it can be found in the blood stream for 24 hours and in urine samples for 48 hours.

Also known as "frying" or "a wet daddy", the cigarettes can be soaked with anything from embalming fluid to LSD or PCP. Smoking the cigarette makes the victime feel dizzy, nauseated and faint, only to wake up with no memory.

yeah, ive heard of a date rape drug that cant be detected and is colorless odorless and everything, and it even prevents your from getting pregnant. EVER. if thes guy feeds you the drug in anyway you can never get pregnant, you`ll never conceieve. yepp. sad, isnt it ?

I never got taught about this in sex ed and we didn't have any health classes I found this out through a magazine I read about 3/4 months ago. I didn't know if any of you knew about it so yeah.. Better be safe than sorry. Haha.

It is a scary thought though, that one tablet can make you near enough/completely forget what happens afterwards. In just 20 minutes
