PARDON ME FOR BEING SLIGHTLY BITTER AND VENGEFUL
If it were an eye for an eye We’d be blind a thousand times by now My wrong against yours to try to make things right No longer assault on me, now it’s a f**king fight If looks could kill We’d be dead a thousand times by now If kisses could resurrect We’d have two thousand lives to spare But that’s the problem: if I wasn’t chained to you I’d toss you off the balcony So I try to motivate you to Help me sever this bond that’s killing me If I’ve been pretending to care all this time I should be in movies and win Oscars Because this is the most believable performance I could ever do in my entire life Forgive me for feeling Wronged and used Forgive me for feeling A collar around my neck, the leash in your hand Because I forgave you The entire struggle you have put me through Now pardon me for being Slightly bitter and vengeful If you had a stone for everything you did You could build a bridge across the sea If we’re so heartless What have we been hearing beating faster EVERY TIME WE KISSED! Where was the nail in the road that we Ran over when we crashed and burned I have to thank you, for you’re The teacher of the hardest lesson anyone has ever learned If I’ve been pretending to care all this time I should be in movies and win Oscars This performance, I’ve poured so much heart into it I’ve buried myself in debt Forgive me for feeling Tossed in the sewer Forgive me for feeling Ill from your disease without a cure Because I forgave you for The entire struggle you have put me through Now PARDON ME FOR BEING SLIGHTLY BITTER AND VENGEFUL TOWARDS YOU! You can make me your punching bag Pummel me till your knuckles bleed I’m wearing a smile all the while But once I stand up for myself Land some blows of my own You send me walking down the green mile If I’ve been pretending to care all this… If I’ve been pretending to care! IF I’VE BEEN PRETENDING TO CARE THEN WE’VE BEEN PRETENDING TO HAVE THESE NIGHTMARES IN WHICH WE LOSE EACHOTHER FOREVER I CAN’T DO FOREVER. I CAN’T EVEN DO A MONTH! I agree with Steph, I like how you used the If.. then.. stucture in many of your lines.. That truly makes it more powerful with more meaning.
