Does America need a revolution?
Is the revolution imminent?
Perhaps the monkey is not the problem, as its the organ-grinder thats pulling the strings. In other words do we need to reshape our government drastically and for what reasons?
Forget the 'I hate Bush' /'I think Bush is amazing' bullshit, that only causes divide in the room and that gets you nowhere. Do you think the USA could be improved under a new government with a more centralized power.

you think that we have trouble now? changing out government would cause even more chaos! both sides need to come to a few realizations and compromise things

In 1532 following the split with Rome, Thomas Cromwell successfully changed the English government dramatically and most importantly internally, without causing any disturbances.
If they can make 'I cant believe its not butter' I'll be damned if they cant do that today.

I thought about it being in debate, but i thought it would get more of a response here.
51% - republicans? Only because the ethnic minorities are not counted. Did you know that the official unemployment rate is 6%? what you may not know is that anyone with a criminal record and from a, shall i say, unappreciated background or neighbourhood is not counted.
Socialism - tried and failed. Democracy, now theres an alternative to a federal republic.

everyone thinks bush is bullshit....

no not necessarily..

no i don't think so. the US government has some problems, but I think it has developed for the better over the past 200 some odd years. so no, i think that would turn into an all out civil war. which would suck. too many people with strong opinions, and powerful weapons. the entire country could be in danger if that happened.

ohh, i remember that, but that was back then. circumstances are more different now, with more problems, more people, more chance for a revolt against the new gov't.

changing the government would do nothing.
every form has its goods and its bads, and who knows what bads might unexpectedly pop up.

as for the bush stuff, every person doesnt have his good points. bush just happens to be unpopular. i don't like him either, but that's beside the point.

i mean, if kerry made it, i'm sure he would have made some mistake. no president's perfect.

If you put it in debate, it would actually get intelligent responses. mellow.gif

What the hell does unemployment have to do with 51% republicans. And "ethnic minorities" can be republican too. Race and gender do not determine what party you choose.

Obviously you are not neutral if you say that you think America needs a revolution. _dry.gif

right on. i didn't want to say anything or people would start b!tching, but the president has an important role.

i don't think america need a revolution, not something that extreme, but it need some big changes.

ever heard of non-violence? civil disobediance? violence does not necessarily have to be used in order to cause a successful revolution.

We had our revolution. Another one would just make the last one pointless.

NO. It would make this country better. Do you know how many starving/homeless CHILDREN are in our country? What about just homeless people in general? The people who can't afford medicine or food for their family. What about them?

Yeah, and like I said, what would putting a new president into power do?
You'll always have the powers that be, the corporate companies with money and the right-wing organisations that crush the little people.
Yes, every country may have its bad side, but as Darwin said, the only species that will survive is that which can adapt the most. If America can't (or won't) change then maybe it will not be able to progress now or in 50/100 years time.
