htaccess, forbidden

you know there a htaccess code for "forbidden," but how can you forbid some one from viewing a certain folder on your site.

You can create a page in the folder called "index.html".
The "index.html" is where you can type "FORBIDDEN" or something to show the visitors that they can't enter.. or view the stuff in that folder.

Just a certain folder? Because you can disable certain directories.

Um.... Yeah..... I don't think you can do specific folders.... I dunno, but you could password protect the file. -shrug-

ok i figure it out, but how do you have customize forbidden for this, and if you have more than one htaccess (ip banned, anti-leech) won't they overwrite each other?

.... I thought you just added them all into the same file. Or does that only work for the error pages?

i dunno, cuz every tutorials i read they said "make new files and call it 'htaccess' "
