Today was hell. My dog brought in a dead rat in my room as a present for me. I started freaking out.. my mom thought my dad was having a stroke so she burnt whatever she was cooking and the alarms started to go off.. then my dog started barking like crazy. I ran outside to throw the dead rat in the trashcan BUT when I came back to my room, there was ANOTHER ONE! I started freaking out again and my dad just got home so he put it in a plastic bag and threw it away. Then I started cleaning up my room to see where the rats where coming from and if there was any hiding in my REALLY messy room. Then I came back downstairs to report to my dad that there weren't anymore.. then he found out I didn't put the first rat in a plastic bag so he made me DIG IN THE TRASHCAN to put it in a plastic bag (i used gloves).
After all that was done, I went back to my room. I started vacuuming like crazy to make sure there weren't any dead rat pieces left in my room. I didn't have disenfecting stuff so I just sprayed a ton of febreeze where the dead rats were. My friend was gonna run over to my house to give me lysol but her parents wouldn't let her.. they probably thought I would inhale it or something.. so they told her to give me an air freshener instead. :| So anyway, now I'm hiding in the corner of my room farthest away from where the dead rats were. I'm scared there's still dead rat bacteria thriving in that small spot X( And now I'm trying to stay away from my dog :( Sorry for the long post.. I just had to tell someone. Do you think febreeze will get rid of most of the dead rat germs? I know it takes away odor.. it has alcohol in the ingredients.. I dunno. I'm really paranoid. And has a pet ever done something like this to freak you out? |

That is nasty. But don't be afraid of the spot, the rats are gone now. Move on with your life.

That's pretty gross. I get scared of just seeing a bug in my room! I don't think febreeze will help the germs or anything. It just helps the odor go away o_o. Good luck with the dead rats =/

I hate live rats. Bleck. At my old house, I went on vacation for a week, and when I came back there were two live rats hiding under my pillow. My room was messy too, food crumbs and such everywhere. Ugh. Now I always keep my room clean, and I don't eat in there. I eat in my brother's room ^_^.

Omg if there was one in my room, I'd throw it in a trashcan immediately and spray the spot with lysol.

haha, my friend's gonna give me lysol at school. hopefully no teachers will see us? i don't want them to think i inhale the stuff.
first, my dad was mad at me.. now he WANTS me dog to kill rats so he can get rabies. how mean. i think my dog killed a rabbit by giving it a heart attack while he was chasing it. gosh, i hope my dog will stop. :( |

maybe you should take your dog to one of those obedience schools...
 my cat brought me a dead mouse...i thought she was playing with a rag scrap but then i got a good look this was all outside though, thank goodness |

Haha thas was funny. I`ve had expieriences with dead mice and my cat but ew..rats...they`re bigger and wayy grosser.

My cat has brought in mice before. If they're dead, I throw them away but if they're alive, I let them go far far away. These are MICE not rats. And I try not to get mad at my cat either, because it's just a present for the family..

My friends dog ate 5 pigeons and she had to pull them out of his throat...i know....sick isn't it?

My dogs don't do that at all, but thats cuz we don't have rats
we used to have mice in my old house and my dogs killed them, ha ha, stupid mice, good dog! Yeah I was watching this show called Life Of Grime: New York and this guy ran around with a plastic baseball bat and killed mice in his apartment complex (he was the super) and yeah he killed over 30,000 mice, man he's cool, but yeah I hate MICE AND RATS! and thats so mean that your dad wants your dog to get rabies, I'm calling the ASPCA and PETA!!! lol, j/k, but I'm so against animal cruelty, except for vermin, i hate them... |
