Truth is, that girl who told Kevin that crap IS racist. People might not interracially date in your school, but it's not true at all that AMERICANS don't date people of other races.
There shouldn't be anything holding you back. Don't worry about it, just go for it. And if he doesn't like you because your Asian, then he's just ignorant. Races shouldn't matter at all. We all have the ability to love. The only reason I could see it mattering was if your cultures, traditions, and customs were SO different than they clashed so badly and caused a lot of problems. |

^It doesn't make him old-fashioned. It just shows his preference. my brother and his gf are both asian. They must be old-fashioned at the age of 18 and 17.
Do you really love this dude? Anyways if he's not interested he's not interested. But the whole people date their own race thing is false. I dated a white guy and I'm asian. |

No, race definitely does not matter. Interracial dating happens all the time now. My boyfriend is white and I'm Asian. Unless your crush's parents actually say he can only date other white girls, then you should be allowed to tell him how you feel.

If you're an American citizen, doesn't that make you an American? You can be a Filipino-American, Chinese-American, African American, etc. Right? Prove me wrong but even the whites living in America are decents of foreigners from other countries; just like asians and other ethnics. That girl is stupid and is racist for reasons that aren't even clear to her. I'm filipino dating a latino boy, and I've dated a white boy before. Nothing wrong with that. P.S. Since I'm assuming she's white, I wouldn't be surprised if she ended up with a guy[or girl] who isn't white. End. |

umm... well I've always had this feeling that kind of has to do with this... I've always felt that not very many guys like me because i'm asian. it sounds stupid, but i always get that impression. i mean, it's not EXACTLY racism, but i guess they have their preferences?

well where i live i would end up dating asian guys anyway cuz lyke i live in vietnam. so yahhh. and i'm asian. so it would be acceptable in either families. as long as he knows english and it hot and tall than i'm fine with it.

It should not matter at all about your race. But to some people it does matter.. not in a racist way or anything they just tend to be more comfortable with their own or some other race.
I'll be honest and tell you guys that I'm more comfortable with Korean guys, maybe cause I've only gone out with koreans? I've gone out with a Mexican and.. hm no American yet to my surprise. Buuuut, it's not such a huge deal to me. It's not like we're racist though it's just our comfortability. I need to stop looking down on myself whenever I have a thing with an American, I keep doubting myself that it probably bothers him that I'm Asian. I just find it hard to believe for an American to like a Korean. Not just those two races but including the others too. |

Sweetheart my boyfriend is white and i'm black and people are always hating on us including his ex best friend, He had a thing for me and I didn't want him so he's mad...I don't care about people who are racist..They can kiss my chocolate booty for all I care.
