so i had YPT today(young people's theatre) and we were told waht roles in the we would get today. i rly wanted the role of joe in little women becuz i was just so unbelievabley perfect for that role. but i got handed the role of this anna girl in a seperate play called "the murder room" i was absolutely crushed. i couldn't believe it. i was so distrough i was considering quitting YPT. i told my mom and she told me to ust play the role of anna and do a kick ass job of it. though i couldn't help feeling distrought i decided to stick w/ it and play the role of anna. i hope i made the right choice. i don't want to be forced into anything i don't want to do but then again i don't want ot be selfish and closed-minded and quit just becuz i didn't get the role i wanted.

i hope i made the right choice of stick w/ the role of anna. did i?

Sometimes, the hand you get dealt with isn't the one you want. But still, you have to keep trucking on because sometime or another, the dealer's gonna be nice and deal you a good one.

i think you did make the right choice because although it was not the role you wanted, you still get a good experience out of it. afterall, it's the whole purpose of doing this is to learn more about drama and theatre, right?

economically, it's better for you to do with what you've got.

however; real life isn't economics.

if you really are pissed at it, and you know that you should have been picked for joe, then by all means quit.

screw them and make a stand.

(then again, that's just my opinion...)

You made the right choice. If you really like acting you stick with what you get. But you gotta blow the play away with a kick ass performance.

if you had a lot good experience with your part, then I think that would be the right choice for you. hm or just try something new even though you dont like it. well are you good at anna's part? then i dont think there would be any bad pressure on you, right? heh. well good luck with your play!

Remember that we can't always have what we want in life. But I do agree that you'll get more experience and just hope that you'll get lucky and next time, you'll get the role. Not only that, but perhaps the people who casted the students will realize that they made a mistake and realize your true talent. It's not just about getting what you want.. It's about making the most of what you've got.

definitely. even if it takes being crushed, show that you are mature, and that you deserve more by making the best of what you have. it builds character (:

You made the right choice because you cant be egoistic that you didnt get the certial part you wanted , maybe this will be better for you anyways , life has its surprises of upsetting you when you need life to go well.

you know, many people get roles that they never wanted. Just because YOU think you were best for it, someone else may see you as something else. Try to trust those who see you from the outside, not in your head. I say good for you for taking the role. You may be able to grow in a direction you never thought of before. I know I tried out for a leading role, and when we did the auditions we read the main roles as well as some of the comedic roles. So i did voices and impressions and tried to impress them, and I ened up gettin gthe comic relief role because they thought I was so funny! So there must have been something they saw you do that helped them choose you for that role. Good luck!!

I`ve learned from past experiences that you couldnt get what you want all the time ....and that your the best out of the most . There are many talented people out there who has the same determination and skill as you....you just got to keep on Trying harder in order to succeed.....

....not everyone is as good as you ....but they will have the determination to beat you ....

ive had past experiences when at sophomore year i was a lead role ....and the next year i was just a back vocal ........ive got devestated to find out i couldnt get the lead role in the musical .......and to find out that there are people better then you after you moved out of your old school ....it sucks .....thats just the way life is .....

I think you made the right choice. Just do your best, and once the teachers see how good you are, the can make the choice whether or not to give you a better role next time or not.
