I recently tried to make my own xanga layout using this tutorial:
Xanga Skin Tutorial

I also have a dark player which works fine if you put it before [places the dark player at the very top of the page] this code:

<!-- begin code provided by createblog.com -->
<div style="
overflow: auto;
width: ###px;
height: ###px;
margin-top: ###px;
margin-left: ###px;">
<!-- end code provided by createblog.com -->

it also works if you put it in the webstats but places the dark player at the very bottom of the page.

The problem:
it seems like you can't put the dark player after that code [i get this syntax error] so is there any other code that places the dark player at the top of the blog cuz it won't accept the dark player after that code. unless you put it before that code or in the webstats. You can't close that <div> code either cuz the blog won't be in the place where you put it and messes up the whole layout.

hope you can help me on this.. thanks biggrin.gif

You could try putting it in a custom module

^ Please don't double post.

I think maybe your site has too many codes? Sometimes if you do, your xanga won't be able to load at all.

nope..my xanga doesn't have too much codes at all...it only has the xanga skin css, the dark player, the splash and that's it... ermm.gif

I guess there's something wrong with that xanga skin tutorial cuz you can't put any scripts after putting the div code for the blog... sad.gif I've tried everything i could..(putting custom modules, using other music scripts, putting it up, above, below the header, webstats, the div code itself,etc.) I've even try scripts in blogring....but it still doesn't work..and no one seems to have a solution to it..*Sigh* sad.gif and again..no i don't have too much codes...i'm don't like to make people dizzzy when they come to my site...oh well......still hoping for a genius out there.... cry.gif

hmm my question is finally at page 5 of this xanga help forum mellow.gif

well..after 7 days of toiling through the codes, experimenting, copying & pasting, re-doing the codes all over again, screwing up my skin and fixing it all over again, going through sites hoping to find the solution to my question, till i got sick with fever [for real i've got the flu and i hate being sick!] I finally got it to work [all by myself!].

FYI, perhaps you peeps could re-edit the xanga tutorial skin and say that if they want to put dark player they'll have to put an extra code for it and fiddle with the other codes so that in the future, anyone who wants to make their own skin with the darkplayer in it won't have to toil so hard and get sick [like me]. I didn't use custom modules or tables cuz they don't accept html codes and will just end up messing up your skin and get a syntax error. I did not use too many codes that it just won't load onto xanga. So those of you planning to do that - don't it's just a waste of time. You'll prolly go crazy and cry lolz. Div layering the dark player would somehow work but it won't auto play and messes with your other scripts and ur skin position. so umm yeah. that's all... so what's the code you say? I'mma put it up later after I get better. after all I'd like to keep my hard work to myself for a while before sharing [not trying to be selfish but u know...lolz...I will share don't worry! tongue.gif ] ....after all - No music No life lolz wink.gif

So I hope this helps anyone else that's having probs with putting dark player in a custom skin.

Ps. Thanks for the replies here - thank u!! biggrin.gif
