I forgot to register to take mine plus i'm too broke to even pay the fee.

for those who already took either one of them, was it reall hard? what did you think of it. would you recommend studying or would that just be a waste of time cuz none of the stuff is even on there.

j/w. i'll prolly fail mine.

How much is your SAT? Ours is like $40... how can you be broke...... ask your parents. I mean they should really give you that money because SAT is required for university colleges. they should know that. you could've taken SAT just by asking your parents money. my parents do give me money on important things.

anyways... i haven't taken it because i still have a year to go, so i guess i'll take it next year even though im going to a community college cause i kinda still wana be a fashion designer... or a graphic designer.

But I know it's hard because I have a friend who is same level as me. Like the smartness level. And she told me how it went.. she said it went bad. She studied, but it was hard like h-a-r-d. Now, I'm scared. Even though I study hard, more than 3 hours. I still get a bad grade. I just don't know why it's like that. Well sometimes... like if it was on Science, geography, world studies only. oh and math.

shouldn't you set your standards higher than community college? not that theres ne thing wrong with it, you just sound smarter

well i don't live with either parent. never even met one of them
me and my aunt bicker like crazy, and even if i do git money from her to take the test, all hell would break lose if i don't do well on it.

i'm not takin that chance. So that's why i'm gonna pay for it myself. I'm broke due to gas prices. there like .. whoa. sky high.

no but the real reason i didn't take it is cuz i forgot to register. I guess i'll register for the june one. now i'm real scared cuz i got the letter yesterday in the mail that the tests just got harder.. great.

I've taken the SAT twice. And the second time I did worse than the first time if that tells you anything. And I'm supposedly a really smart girl with an almost 4.0 gpa and it's my senior year. Talk to your parents and have them pay for the SAT. In Florida, it's only $28.50, I don't know how that differs from yours. And you probably should study for the Sat/Act but don't spend hours and hours studying it to the point that you're missing sleep. Like every once in awhile, take a look at the workbook or whatever book you have. The night before the sat, don't study! Just make sure you get sleep, and that you have a good breakfast in the morning so you won't be focusing on food the whole time. I had that problem the first time lol. Good luck. =)

it wasn't as bad as i thought it would be.. i would definitely recommend doing some practice tests. my school has an account for the online version of the college board book; it includes a lot more practice.

i was taught that community colleges are for dumb people who couldn't get into harvard or yale.

kidding, but what are the benefits of a community college? (besides cheaper and closer)

meh, you get two chillaxed years before transferring to a larger university. think of it as a sort of pre-college thing. i'd rather just jump right into my college education, however.

I've taken the ACT several times and I never really studied, I think the stuff you learn at school is good enough for the studying part.

the benefits of a community college isn't just cost and closeness. it's the ratio of student to teacher. at my university, you are LUCKY if you get a class that is smaller than 200 students, SMALLER. at a community college, you will NOT get a class LARGER than 30 kids. That is useful when you are taking classes that requires attention from the teacher and you NEED to pay attention and to understand what is going on, and you can't do that when you are in a theater class room that seats 400-600 students.

ANYWAYS, on to the thread:

Check with your school to see if there is a late registration date. You may have to pay extra which I understand is tough but it gives that push over to get you in. Also, if you know what school you are going to apply to, check their requirements because some schools don't require SAT and ACT scores. I'm not suggesting you nto to take them, I'm saying if it isn't required don't get yourself all worked up if it won't affect your college experience. If it is required and your community college doesn't, I'd suggest going to a CC for say a year, (it's still has the same courses as a university, just isn't so ... crowded) and save up the money. It also can be benefical when you take that test because you may have taken the courses that you will be tested on the SAT or ACT.
The SAT and ACT has been changed since I took it over 4 years ago, but oh well. Do take the tests that is offered at your school or the library. You'll be surprised at how they can be helpful. SAT looves to have analagies, so study up on your vocabulary. Either way, good luck! Don't pressure yourself to much, your score will not dictate your entire life.

I took the SAT and didn't do too good on it. Still got into the schools I wanted. At least I don't have to take the new SAT with the essay.
