Found this thing from James... it shows how effed up the world is. This map shows the results of a test conducted by the GLESN on homo/bisexual discrimination and harassment in schools. Its based on laws and such... so ya.

Anyways, 42 states failed it. Mississippi got -3. One state got a D, three states got C's, two got B's and two got A's. Thats just pitiful. Is our world really that discrimitory?

I know that this is the kind of topic that is posted alot, but, why do we have to be like this to others? Sure gays, lesbains, and people who are bisexual are diffrent, but if we were all the same, this would be a very boring place. Why do we treat someone who is diffrent than us in such a bad way? What, just because they have a diffrent prefrence means their the devil?

Ya know, if you go back far enough, we are all the same. I just don't understand this whole world. Sure, were never going to have peace, but can't we just all maybe someday learn to accept each other for who we are on the inside, and not the outside?

Yes, it's so sad how the world is so full of discrimination..

Of course, it matters only on the outside not the inside. Who cares about their sexual preference?

You know, you'd expect that since it's becoming more common and that more people are open about it, there'd be a broader acceptance amongst society.

To those who are of the Christian faith (Catholics included), the world wasn't created in one day but it was created nevertheless.

To those who do not belong in any religion, the price of peace and freedom is hardwork and sometimes even blood. The thousand mile journey on foot begins with one step at a time.

Why do you all wonder why there is discrimination? It is a part of life. Some of you are prejudiced against me as you read this simply because I do not hold the same views as you.

If you wonder why there is discrimination in the world, clear discrimination from your own heart first.

Instead of showing people your dislike of them for not thinking the same as you, show them tolerance. After all, you must practice what you preach.

The states in the US that have laws against homosexuality are:

Virginia
North Carolina
South Carolina
Georgia
Florida
Kentucky
Tennessee
Alabama
Mississippi
Arkansas
Louisiana
Texas
and finally... Massachusetts! Thats' right, the state that started homosexuality laws in the United States is also the only one where gay marriage is legal.

Harrassment is different... that reflcets more of a general attutide of society, it's not really the fault of the state.

i would like to thank the failing states. Discrimination of groups of gender or racial orientation is wrong. We are all human. To allow our nation to not recognize morals would be really effed up. Homosexuals are not a group. Just because they are a minority compared to murderers or thieves, that doesn't make them "special". Physical harm and/or imprisonment is wrong. Why? because that is vigilance. forms of actual harassment were not specified.

It doesn't make them any less human though.

She just said that, and i didnt disagree. I said they aren't a group. That's the problem with labels, they become stereotypes. People are suffering with self-loathing more than the people who, like you, put them all in one group. Individuality was what was meant to be spared by the constitution. When groups are formed like you are doing, wars start. Not the good kind either.

Everyone has rights and you are stomping all over every single person who is either struggling with their problem, embracing it, or somewhere in the middle.

i'm sorry, did i mention that nov. 2 voters in alabama voted to leave a part of our constitution in, in which it states:

blacks and whites cannot marry
blacks are inferior
it is legal to discriminate against them.

due to your logic, they aren't a group either.

I dunno. Maybe they wrote prejudice insults all over the test papers that... displayed not only their lack of knowledge but also the lack of respect?
mSz_dOrk_anGeL, care to elaborate on that?
