QUOTE
Alabama State Representative Gerald Allen is on record as wanting to ban gay marriage, but now he's turned his attention to the state's libraries--both public and school. Allen wants to pass a law to ban books with gay characters. He also wants textbooks that suggest homosexuality is okay out of state schools.

...for we musn't let others read 'gay' books and become 'abnormal' rolleyes.gif

ahh yes. sweet home alabama.

-where a kid dressed up in a kkk hat for school
-where our biology textbooks have a sticker that says evolution is complete crap
-where our cheif justice is a jesus freak that thinks we should admit that we're trying to spread christianity in iraq and afganistan and the muslims will stop blowing us up (i couldn't figure it out either)
-where they have to say that both overall straps must be on both sholders in the dress code

ahh yes. sweet, sweet home alabama.

I don't think any book should be banned. That's like how people wanted to ban "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn". People have the right to read what they want.

Anyways, I find this really stupid. It's a total waste of time. You can't do anything to stop homosexuality; you're born with it. It's nature, not nurture, so people should just stop trying to ban all this nonsense.

Homosexuality isn't with you at birth. It's a decision.

How come you guys can be so adament that homosexuality is nature not nurture and vice versa? It has been proven on both sides and it just depends on which side you choose to believe in. Maybe it's nature to some but nurture to others?

That's true in Pennsylvania too. Mostly because almost no one wears American flag shirts. Occasionally, someone might wear a confedereate flag shirt.

And Nick. People don't decide to be homosexuals. When people "come out", they usually say something to the effect of discovering they're gay. They don't say "Well, one day I just decided to be gay." Sure, there are some gay people who are only gay because it's like.. a fad these days.. But no one just decides to be gay.

It doesn't matter of its a lifestyle choice or not.

The simple fact is that it isn't our business what other people's lifestyles are.
