Okay so I recorded a video of me talking as my new weblog entry and I'm ready to upload it. It's 5 minutes long but it's a whopping 300 MB. Is this normal for a webcam video? Does it need to be compressed or whatever? It's in .wma format I believe, but I don't think my hosting site can handle that much of a space and if it does, it will take a while to upload.
What to do? Also on a related note, what is the script for which I can add a windows media player video (with stop, play, pause) in a weblog entry. and starts when the visitor clicks play, not automatically starting when they enter? Thanks. I appreciate it. |

Not sure about the video...
But as for the media player... Please look in Xanga Scripts next time! Click here and scroll down. |

that's cuz it's minimally compressed.. the video camera thingy should come with compression software. Otherwise, encode using the windows media codec

Say...I put in the code in my weblog entry but when I submited it, nothing worked (it just showed the html coding)
Remember I want to put a wmv file IN a weblog entry, not any where else in the site which requires me to put in the webstats or header sections. |

holy smokes! 300 mb! that will take forever for someone to download if they visit your page. i've compressed 5 min. music videos in the past down to about 10 mb. you'll need to reduce the size, bitrate quality of the video and sound of your movie to reduce it to a downloadable size. there are several programs out there you can use. i use mediasoft joiner-converter. it's free to use but has a limit of 5 min. movies you can edit. anything longer than that and you have to pay to use the program for it's full function.
