My fam works hard.



We got some descent things. Tv, computers, etc.

On the outside, we look rich, but in reality, my father works two jobs, my mom works over time all the time, i work 10-12 hours a day.

I think we are poor. We pay all our bills by the minimum, and money gets tight at times.

well, i am not "rich rich", but i can afford things i want but i am not spoiled, we still use our money for useful things

i don't think we're poor. i think we're in the middle even thought we got a lot of debts. We pay for 2 houses and the rent of the bakery. We don't have a lot of money but somehow we always make it.

my dad is an entrepenaur (own his own business) and he has his own office and sometimes works from home.

my dad saves all of his money...we have a lot of nice things in our house...but hes not one of those ppl that blow all of their money on material things all the time.

the government considers us "upper-middle class".

Well, I don't care about you but.. I'M POOR!! and I'm not embarrassed to say it! I have about two or three thousand in bills and debts. My husband gets paid every two weeks and the checks are about thirteen hundred. But we have to pay bills and all that debt, plus we have kids, so most of it goes to them, clothes mostly. We're living right now check by check. Man, we need to start putting some in savings...okies, enough info.. See yah around.

i'm sure that everyone's definition of "poor" differs. to some, being "poor" simply means that they cannot afford everything they want. idk, i think that most CBers are pretty well-off. however, different families have different priorities and values.. for example, instead of dumping money on me for clothes and CDs, my parents choose to invest it all in my education, which they believe is far more valuable.

sometimes we struggle from time to time. but we have everyday luxuries like television/dish and dsl/computer and nice cars but my parents don't really have their financial priorities straigh. :-/

but u compare that the ppl at afican or something, they are so poo r that they get diease and just laying on the street to get rotten and die

I guess we're normal. I don't know. Probably almost poor because my mom was going to get a second job. =x and nobody's working with her, except her bf, but iunno if he helps us pay the bills. Well, we were going to move to las vegas if my mom got this new job that could make us rich!

true, but different societies have different standards, and technology and industry have created new needs for our society that have not spread to this.. er.. "poor African society" as much.

I know poeple who are worse off than me and are actually on welfare, so I limit myself to say that I'm poor.

Yes, we are on a tight budget and save all we can. I get a lot of stuff I want, but partly I pay for it.

I guess we shouldn't judge people on their wealth/poverty status just because of the person.

This girl in my schoo, everyone thinks she is like, poor cause she wears the same thing everyday and has crappy clothes and stuff. But I don't think she's POOR, she's just not rich.

And I hate people who are all " Omg, I'm getting ________. ________, _______, _______ and the latest nextel phone! " and the another day going " omg, I can't believe my mom! She wouldn't buy me ________ "

poor is like when you make $20,000 a year or less... but if it enough to have a roof over your head and food on the table then your not really poor

My parents work hard as hell.. I don't really think about being poor, I mean.. I can't really afford things for myself yet because I can't work, and my sister works and takes care of the family too.

I don't think I'm poor.. But I'm not considered rich either. To me, being rich is having anything you want and being spoiled and yadayada. And being poor is living out in the streets, with the exception of living in a house/apartment with no money to buy food/pay water bills/pay landlord/pay electric bills/is a dump.

There's a lot of things that I want that I can't have, but there's already a lot of things that I DO have.. and I guess I'm pretty much satisfied with that.

I think we look rich too, just because of our house. Our house is.. pretty damn nice, but it's really messy in the inside.

hmm plenty of people call me rich and i guess we're not poor...but i don't think we're rich. perhaps upper-middle...we do have a decent house but not big at all and the stuff inside our house is pretty nice, but i've seen lots nicer. i guess its cause i own a lot of somewhat expensive stuff i suppose...

my mom and cousins say i am spoiled because i was born in the us and that i got much more then they did. i am glad about what i get but sometimes i forget and i compare my stuff to my friends which they are like 100Xbetter.
i define poor as people who can't afford things that they actually need like food, clothing and shelter.

My extended family is poor. Trailor trash broke. My family is middle class. We live in a kinda crappy suburban barrio in a one-story house. All my friends are upper-middle class. They live in the nice "white neighborhood" with huge houses and luxeries that frighten me. Who has money for all that? O_o

My family is middle class, but my parents have worked really hard to have what we own now. I'm proud of them. My defination of poor is too be needy and struggling to pay for simple necessities to survive.

poor? poor is when you need to count your money a lot and always make sure you've not buying too much. of course theres a point where you are just completely out of money and need outside help. but most people that are "poor" can definately afford food, clothes, and the necessities. Its all the other stuff that you aren't thinking of. a CAR for example. a car drains a shit load of money if you think about it.


but i think people are getting the wrong idea of being "rich". rich is when you have too much money to spend. very few people are rich. upper-class would be a better term to use. supposedly its like when the home income is $200000+ a year, but obviously you can't put a number to it.

anyway, there are too many ways to be "poor" i doubt that you're all that poor if you have a computer and an internet connection.
