i know that there may be other factors, other motivators, but i just want to know, out of these choices, which one keeps you working the most? why do you study, why do you do homework, why do you pursue academics? by the way, if you, in fact, do not feel an obligation toward education, please do not vote or post in this thread.

well, i would say that I want to have a successful career(making the $$$) which starts by having a good high school education to go off to the college of my choosing. I'm gonna need a high paying job with my bad shopping habits.

great topic i'd like to say. but anyways, out of that list probably either money or curiosity, mostly money. the curiosity is only applicable to certain subjects in school.

Curiosity, I like to learn. It may sound cliche but it's true, I like expanding my knowledge on certain subjects. That applies to every supject excluding Math.

This is a good topic

expectation, curiosity, and money.

i want to learn more about this world and be more tolerated the way things are.

i want money cuz i need money. Without money, we cant live much happily becuase our economic is alot different ...

expectation becuase of acknowlegement and proudness.

I chose expectation: i just can't let my parents, teachers, and society down. I guess since my parents have pushed me to do my best, it's made me want to work harder for their pride in me.

Money, reputation, and esteem are also in there but expectation is the most important. My boyfriend even pushes me to work as hard as I can. Some of my teachers know that I can do my best if I put my heart and soul into it... I hate letting them down. :/

Expectation, and money probably. I work because my parents tell me to, and I can't let them down. I also work hard because I want a better future.

i definetely wanna get into a good university and all, but mostly because of my parents. theyre constantly asking me wat i wanna be when i get older, how im gonna get to it, etc. i cant stand to let them down. i dont wanna be a disgrace to my family. [my sis said that i was a disgrace already cuz i got a C+ in english last term _unsure.gif ]
and my sis is all into her schoolwork and set for life, so my parents expect me to be the same.

Hmm...well I do this all for myself.
I don't do it for anybody else. My parents, peers, nobody has ever pressured me to do anything or get good grades...I don't need anybody to tell me to do so.

I can progress on my own.

This was a really hard choice.
