I LOVE THIS TOPIC!!! Cheerleading is so a sport, now you soccer lover`s dont get mad at me..i played soccer for 7 year`s of my life, and i love it but i think cheerleading is alot harder then soccer. yeah lol. You try getting 18 girl`s to do the same thing over and over again, and being stiff, arms locked etc. I was the flyer and all i have to say is it is alot harder then it look`s.

So dont go saying cheerleadings not a sport if you dont play any and just sit on ur ass all day. Cause it take`s alot of time to learn. And we dont enjoy your topic`s or insult`s about it. Oh and another thing. Dont call us slut`s cause doing jump`s, stunts, and competing dosent make us slut`s mad.gif

I've been a cheerleader since Kingergarten.
Anyway, if you do competitive cheering, it's a sport. it takes so much athletic ability and you need actual skill to do it.

I'm not bias. I do the following sports:
Soccer
Softball
Volleyball
Lacrosse
and then of course
Gymnastics
Cheering
Dancing

and by far, aside from gymnastics, cheering requires the most amount of skill, practice and preparation to pull off.

Actually most cheerleaders I know aren't obnoxious or stuck up. It's like any other sport where the people who might be REAL good might be cocky about it too. But at a competition I went to once, some girls looked REALLY stuck up, but it's all PART of cheerleading, they're suppose to bring out the competitive side like during games.

I was a cheerleader last year. I personally think it is a sport and that not all cheerleaders are obnoxious bitches, of course there were some on our squad, but it's inevitable. Some things in cheer are extremely strenuous...

Well I have got to admit that I was an extreme tomboy in 7th grade (when the try-outs were held) and thought that cheerleading was some useless piece of crap that needed to be stabbed over and over then die. I actually tried out for the cheer squad as a joke, but I actually made it and decided to go with the flow. I'm kinda thankful now that I did because it's basically what kept me in shape last year...actually I think I was kinda buff. -_=x

Okay so that's my little tangent...oh and another thing. The useless squads are usually the ones that just cheer at games and stuff...competition is what makes it. xP If you read all that, I'm proud of you! G'day.

For guys, they'll practically posting scholarships in the nearest weightroom; especially if you can tumble.

Competitive cheerleading is a sport.

I agree! What are you going to be a professional cheerleader? That's a great thing to be when you are 40.
