QUOTE(yo pusha @ Feb 4 2006, 5:40 PM) whats wrong with jay-z being on it? he is one of the biggest african american businessmen, urban culture would not be what it is now if it wasnt for jayz. jayz is the classic example of a young man coming from undesirable situations to rising up to be a very successful business, man. he made it cool to dress nicely, instead of wearing shirts that hang to your knees. he made it cool to enjoy music of higher quality, signing artists like kanye west, royce da 5'9, joe budden. he is one of the first black artists to completely "cross over", being accepted by everybody and selling tons of records. jayz deserves to up there more than the williams sister do.. props to hov.. not that im voting for jay but yeah Is that how we rate the goodness in people now? By their wealth? |

QUOTE(Retrogressive @ Feb 4 2006, 8:17 PM) He didn't really mention wealth, in fact, he just mentioned that he was extremely successful and if that is by wealth, then so be it. He pointed out clear facts to how Jay Z has been and is successful and how he might have changed some standards in the music business and whatnot. No where does it say, "Jay Z is a great guy because he's so rich." |

As much as the other people made big changes in our society, Martin Luther King Jr. always stands out the most. I have a ALOTTA respect for the man. I still respect the other's contributions.

i respect alot for their determination to make everyone equal..each of them just took a little step to get us to where we are today...among those...frederick douglas...harriet tubman..phillis wheatley, rosa parks...MLR...and others
also..i never really knew about coretta scott king...but since she is the aunt of my english teacher..my english teacher has been telling us about her and on a more personal basis..making this historical figure more tangible as a person..i really respect her for what she has done ..RIP...i feel awful for my teacher tho..hes been soo tired and upset..and hes not gonna be in school next week b/c of the funeral..=\ |
