First, upload your video to any free-hosting sites. Many free-hosting sites can be found in the Big Book of Resources. Make sure the free-hosting site allows you to upload the format of your video.

Then, use the movie player script and I think that's it.

For all files, it should be something like

FILENAME.FORMAT

e.g.

Your video must be something like videoname.BLAH

so what is the BLAH part? That's the format of your video.

Yup, I think so too.
Or maybe a mod should close this topic since the topic starter already posted his/her question in his/her original topic.

relax you're not stupid. a lot of people don't know this stuff or are just learning like you. there are many video formats as there are image formats (jpeg, gif, bmp etc.) but the most common ones are mpeg, wmv, and avi. so to upload your video to your xanga you first need to find and sign up with a hosting server. the same idea applies when your uploading images to your xanga. the problem is that it is very hard to find a free host that will allow you to upload a video to their server and then link it to your xanga. why?? 'cause videos are usually big and take up lots of space and bandwidth when it's being shared or linked to your xanga. if you can't find a free host, it's better to just pay for a host or contact your internet service provider. they often give you some space to store files or put up a webpage since you've already signed up with them. so first things first is to find a good host who will allow you to store your video there.

first off you need to get it to your computer
then encode it so it won't be huge... i suggest a windows media encode
then you upload to a hosting site such as http://www.freehomepages.com and get the link

you MUST be able to do all of the steps above

Yes. The URL is working. If you want others to view it on your xanga, you can either put up the URL or use the movie player script.
