I heard Welcome to the Plague Year awhile ago. Something about them I don't really care for.

Never heard of the first band you suggested, so I'll give them a listen.

bands that have been on since i woke up:
braid
the bens
brazil
comeback kid
decibully
koufax
everything but the girl
the good life
give up the ghost
kodan armada

i've been up for awhile :(

mellow.gif see, I knew I'm not alone... I knew it I knew it I knew it

um.. and the BLood Brothers, (does Azure Ray still count?), Bran Van 3000, British Sea Power, Ash (before anything happened), Mae, Hot Hot Heat (not anymore I guess, =/ they're BC, gotta support XD)
I thought I was going to miss Eisley when they showed up on MTV and seems as if Warners Records took over...

But hey, it's hard to let something go.

"Walking With the Ghost" isn't really underground anymore where I live. The radio station I listen to plays that song a lot now. pinch.gif Luckily girls at my school haven't gone around screaming "OMFR TEGAN AND SARAH!!11one!!!!!"

Pauline says, "I hate flies."

Mucho love,

Alyson

^ huh.gif that's weird, because the only place i'd ever seen them was on sammi's xanga.

so i finally downloaded that "coin operated boy" song by the dresden dolls that everyone has in their profile. it's pretty good, but not that underground here.

i really like xiu xiu. "fabulous muscles" is on the way to my house. i'm anxiously waiting.

"Coin Operated Boy" is an okay song. It's been played like a million+ times on the radio and a lot of people at my school have heard of them. They had an unplugged concert or something, one of those "up close session" tickets you win on the radio.

i had heard the song on the radio and ejoyed it, but i didnt find out who it was by until it was played at target

however, another one of their songs is in the underground section of on demand music, but who knows how much validity that has

I used to be obsessed with the Lyndsay Diaries last year.. Now, the lead singer's voice irks me a bit, but I still think they're pretty good.

I have been deprived of music for a couple of days. wacko.gif

xo, Pauline

edit: Eh, I really don't like "Walking with a Ghost"... but I did really like T&S's "Frozen" and "Divided".

Last year I was reading my friend's magazine (It was Cosmo Girl.. Okay, so I happen to like reading teeny bopper fashion magazines... What of it?! stubborn.gif *directed towards Aly, even if she hasn't acknowledged it yet*) where I saw this article about Tegan and Sarah. I just sort of kept staring at it, wide-eyed. (Alyson-- this was around x-country season)

Oh, and thanks for mentioning Ivoryline. I'm listening to them right now, ("Broken Metal Twisted Glass") and I like what I hear. flowers.gif

LISTEN and rate it from 1-10. This is for synth pop fans.

Okay that was Amanda's magazine, just to get one thing clear. Besides, I only flip through those magazines so I can read the "Most Embarassing Moments" section. Help builds up my self-esteem.

Pauline, what was that link? Haha, I think I love this song. It's making me feel happy inside. Reminds me of Say Hi.

Ack, I can't find Ivoryline. Woe is me.

Mucho love,

Alyson

EDIT//

I give the song "Just Okay" a 7. And I found Ivoryline's purevolme. Me like "Keeps Me Alive".

i'd give it a 7.5ish out of 10.

architecture in helsinki is kind of... quirky/odd, but there's something about them i enjoy.

The song I sent you guys was by Basil the Mouse... (Alyson-- By Mat. The boy who played his first show in a hot dog suit) I thought it was pretty cute, but I don't like the part where he seems to just mumble the lyrics (-0:20 to -0:17).

I really like Ariel Kill Him.

^ i almost asked if it was them since the quality made it seem... local (you said you knew the singer awhile back), but i didn't because i didn't want to be completely wrong and look like an idiot mellow.gif.

i want my damn xiu xiu cd to get here.

edit: go download "post dreamday forecast" by single frame. it's good.
