and yea, theres no "underground rock" genre, theres indie and indie rock, then variations of punk like emo and scream, ect....underground is used more for rap and hip hop...

If I didn't, IM me at: oh oh the agony, and I'll be sure to do so.

This whole week, I've been only listening to Onelinedrawing ("Smile") and Rilo Kiley ("Portions for Foxes"). mellow.gif

Any recommended bands that you think I will fall in love with? Come on, I'm desperate.

^ i believe i've mentioned all of these in this thread, but what i've listening to a lot recently is "eastern glow" by the album leaf, "happy cycling" by boards of canada, "green grass of tunnel" by mum, and "parasites" by ugly casanova.

edit: i'm downloading some songs from the elected... they sound awesome. people from rilo kiley, ozma, postal service, dntel, and azure ray are involved. anyone like them?

^ Holy Christ, I just transferred some of the Elected's songs onto my iPod three seconds ago, but I honestly don't really listen to them all that much.

HAH! Finally someone who knows Immortal Technique. No, I am not a huge rap fan, but I really like that song -- even though it is like 9 min. long. If you like that kind of rap, you might also like Hieroglyphics, though they're not as "hardcore", as I put it.

Freaking Pauline, you got me addicted to "Your Letter" and not the live version. I still don't get why you think his voice cracks.

More underground stuff to talk about. My sister just got back from a Maida, Heavy Heavy Low Low, Redfall concert, all local and all screamo/hardcore btw. I don't really listen to the stuff, but just some reccomendations if you like hardxcore.

Oh my Jesus, I've resorted to using X's in between words. It's the ****ing apocalypse. Does that make me weird to censor my profanity?

And no Pauline, I'm not stalking you.

Mucho love,

Alyson

i bought the anniversary's first cd well over a year ago, but i'm relistening to it and they're pretty catchy in a pop-punk-with-keyboards kind of way.

i really need to go cd shopping.

Oh, wow. Yesterday night, I fell asleep with Saturday Looks Good to Me's "Ambulance" on repeat. It's one of those songs where the first twenty seconds sound completely strange, but then you keep listening and then you're amazed by how great the song is..

Saturday Looks Good to Me - Ambulance
QUOTE
I don't know if I can find a way to keep
All the secrets that you told me in your sleep
And I'm amazed that you still find the space to dream
In the shadows of a town made out of thieves
Who would drown the sound of history repeating
With the ambulances screaming up the street
So sing to me
Don't let me fall asleep to the sound of cold machines
Or the smell of gasoline
Or the weight of destiny
Don't make me wait
I've been waiting here all night
I've been waiting my whole life
Somewhere the ghosts of factory workers dance
With the ghosts of kids who never had a chance
And we still hear it out our window every night
Like a fistfight in an ambulance
Sing me a song
Don't let me think too long
About what I'm trying to say
Or the broken fire escape
Or how long I've had to wait

You guys should download it..

Oh! Listen! Listen! Listen!

More underground stuff to talk about... Eisely isn't underground anymore, huh? Tarter sauce. I bet you already mention JamisonParker (I am so having Jamison Covington's babies. Step off Pauline.) and maybe Jinxed and The Format -- which is what I'm listening to right now.

Other cool shizz to listen to? Endochine, I'm totally obssessed with their song A New Beginning. Is Straylight Run still considered underground, or am I just living under a rock? Existentialism On Prom Night is a great song.

Bleh, that's enough for now.

Mucho love (but none for a certain person *coughPAULINEcough*)

Covington is mine, kid. Back off.

"Secret" by Endochine is a pretty good song.

And no, I wouldn't classify Straylight Run as underground anymore.
