Y'all are really giving Basick a hard time _dry.gif

Anyways, Aesop Rock is considered underground as rest of the Jukkies (artists on Def Jux). Personally, I think his lyrical content is pretty insightful but his flow is rather corny. He's earned the term 'Gaysop Cock'

Gangstarr, the incredible duo of DJ Premier and Guru, is probably the best thing to never be discovered by today's mainstream hiphop (along with Big L). I still hear people bumping De La Soul, I haven't heard a cut from Guru in a minute.

What I have uploaded to my computer thus far

I'm really dying for the new paint it black album.

i also love fiona apple's new cd. not quite like her first two, since they've grown on me for so many years, but it's good nonetheless.

^ it's death cab for cutie. i think they're pretty mainstream.

i'm obsessed with "meet the pressure" by her space holiday. the lyrics are hilarious... better than most rap comeback songs.

Denali. <3
Things like that never really happen to me in San Jose. Ninety percent of the inhabitants here only listen to the mainstream waste, so I guess I'm the one who would get suprised if anyone ever mentioned Denali.

Let's aim a little lower. I'd even get suprised if anyone over here ever mentioned The Early November. rolleyes.gif

They are still underground. Alll the artist that were under that label that have gone mainstream, like Slim Thug, are doing their records under a different label.

I think Slim Thug is doing his new one under Arista.

EDIT: My fave is Chalie Boy and his album Versatyle Mixtape

Im still a fan of Paul Wall. I usually can tell the difference between a black and white rapper but this guy had me fooled until a friend at school told me he was whte.

the early november is probably the most popular semi-underground band in my town. everyone has their shirts ever since hot topic started selling them _dry.gif.

personally i'd say no since majority of my friends have heard of them/listen to them.

it all depends on demographics to be completely honest, when talking about "underground" music. Technically this should be "indie" music, but whaatev.
