i also love beep beep. i actually am fond of almost anything off saddle creek.

isn't husker du an 80's hardcore band? i haven't listened to them, but i always thought they were kind of like rites of spring.

"on your way" by the album leaf is a great song.

rilo kiley is actually one of my favorites. i used to hate jenny lewis's voice (that is her name right?) but it doesn't annoy me anymore.

I know for a fact that Onelinedrawing has been mentioned more than once in this thread, but I feel as if we haven't talked about them enough.

I remember a couple months ago, when my and ex and I got into this huge fight, I'd listen to them (especially the song "Jul00") over and over again and just.. well, cry.

Ew, I can't believe I just admitted that.

Anyway, what are your favorite songs from them?

ps. Onelinedrawing's "Jul00" (God, for a long time I thought it was titled "Never Run" >_>) got deleted from my computer when my hard drive crashed, and I'd absolutely love it if anyone could send it to me on AIM.

i only have the volunteers, because i'm lame like that, but i listened to it exclusively on repeat for over a week straight. my favorite song is probably "stay", which, to make you feel less "ew", i'll admit i almost cried to awhile back. i hear jonah is an amazing performer.

i'll see if they have jul00 on limewire, but i think that's what you use, so it might be pointless. if i do end up downloading it i'll send it.

Anyone down with Def Jux? Mr. Lif, Aesop Rock, El-p, MF Doom, Aceyelone, MURS, etc?

Anyone like trance music by Jonathan Peters?

Who listens to house?

Who listened to chopped & screwed southern hiphop before it broke into the mainstream? Who listened to crunk before it was a commercial good?

Who likes jazz?

Who listens to freestyle? Trinere is the reason why I can pop.

Gaysop Rock, haha. I like that. I'm not too wild about his flow either but he's tolerable when on a track with Lif.

Chopped & Screwed is just real big down here, it's hard to ignore it.

Kind of Blue is my favorite jazz album of all time. John Coltrane's My Favorite Things comes in a close second.

My favorites are Paul Wall & Chamillionaire, Mike Jones & Magno, and Slim Thug.

They're not underground anymore(Except for Magno) but they still do their underground thing.

^ yeah, she was on some nickelodeon show as a child too.

so i bought the i can make a mess like nobody's business cd the day it came out (i forget when that was, a few months ago?) because i really liked the early november at that time (this is the leader singer of the early november's side project). anyways, i listened to the first half and hated it. then i saw it on pauline's myspace and decided to give it another try, and it's about a million times better than i had remembered. i must've had a bad headache or something because that was the same day i listened to destination beautiful and hated it. anyways, you guys should check them out.

Heh.

Jenny Lewis was on a Nickelodeon show? huh.gif Which?

Oh, and I finally found Onelinedrawing's "Jul00/Never Run". For the past 24 hours, I've been listening to the first minute of it over and over again. Why? Because the rest of it is kind of bad, except for the part where he starts to hum.

Now I'm on a quest to find their "Your Letter". I only have the live version of it, and it sounds pretty good (well, the beginning, that is :\).

- Some Girls
- The Cinema Eye
- Sonic Youth
- Dinosaur Jr.
- Bad Astronaut
- British Sea Power

Oh, and you guys will fall in love with:
Volcano, I'm Still Excited's "In Green"

yeah i know chopped and screwed music is huge down in the south and i dont know how you guys can stand that awful noise... Lil' Flip isn't exactly my favorite artist to listen to.. and him chopped and screwed is about as enjoyable as a Lil Bow Wow & Lil Romeo colllaboration...

and yeah i cant stand aesop rock's delivery he has some songs that i enjoy but the rest is just intellegent scientifical GARBAGE...

Kind of Blue is a dope album.. freddy freeloader lol.. and some other jazz i like is Everette Harp... i just listened to the album "All for you".. its nice

^ pinch.gif i've never seen what the big deal about daphne loves derby is. they just seem like an extremely whiney acoustic band to me.

it took thirty minutes, but that song "in green" is finally done. i'll edit this after i listen to it.

You should download Limewire, instead. It has more search results (though that sort of depends on your internet server) and no spyware.

bearshare had more results than limewire for me... but i thought they connected to the same network. if you get it you have to get the lite version though.

i enjoyed "in green". i also downloaded "two exclamation points" which was also good. another good reccommendation _smile.gif.

hmm, ozma hasn't been mentioned in here. did anyone listen to them? they broke up awhile ago. they were a power pop band that was kind of weezer-ish, but a lot better imo. i started listening to them two and a half years ago, and their cd "rock and roll part 3" still makes me happy. stay away from their newer stuff though. songs i enjoy by them: "domino effect", "turtleneck coverup", and "rain of the golden gorilla".

i downloaded limewire on my dads computer and i had it before, but i like that you can browse the web through ares, and thus have what your listening to and the playlist on the bottom of the screen. i dont know about bearshare lite.

and william, ive listened to ozma, but im not terribly fond of them
