iconart Options

does anybody know where i can find a tutorial for making an icon on iconart ? .. because i just got it and i have NO clue how to use it =P .. okae . well thanks

Hm, I've never heard of iconart..you can try searching for tutorials on Google.

i had iconart
but i never used it to make icons
i used it for cursors try this tutorial thats a tutorial to make fave icons or sumthin like that iono i havent seen tutorials for that program around

^^in that tutorial,it says this:

After you've created and saved your icon, you upload the icon into your Web site's root (main) directory. Add the following tag in the head tag of your site:

<LINK REL="SHORTCUT ICON" HREF="favicon.ico">


You should be all set! If you can't see your icon when you bookmark your site, it's likely that you didn't upload it into the proper directory.


how do u upload the icon into your websites roots?? i dont get that..and if u do kno how can u tell me??

ok dis reguard that part

and all you needa do is get a site w/ webspace like angelfire or geocities

and then upload your icon
then get the url
by clicking view in the file manager

well can u tell me the steps of how to get to the uploading part of geocities? cause when i sign in tere i see the sign in thingy for yahoo and then when i do sign in im stuck at that part =\

ok in your post in programing chat i wrote out alot of steps to making the icon
now

after you made and saved the icon ( if you need further help w/ that go to your post in programing part )

1) now go here (if your not logged in it may require you to log in )
2) click browse and find your cursor
3) double click on the file
4) click upload files
5)after it will take you to a new page that will say the name of your curso and either "upload succesful" or "incorrect........."

if it says upload succesful
6)click the file maneger link
7) then find the name of your cursor there
8) then click view (which is next to the name of your cursor )
9) then copy that url
10) past it in this code

11) if for xanga paste in website stats of the look in feel of your xanga


IF NOT SUCCESFUL WHEN UPLOADING
6) then you may need to re-open icon art & make sure u saved it as "something.ani"

if you cursor shows there then you uploaded it rite
and you can continue w/ the steps & stuff

maybe somethings wrong with geocities on your computer , or geocities is having problems


ummm i think you can try hostima
for hosting , or try angelfire , or wait a while and try geocities again


sorry i dont know exactly whats wrong its probly the geocities server thing

ok i got an account on hostima and when i upgraded files,i clicked on them to see how they turned out on the u kno link and all..anyways..when i clicked it it said open save or cancel..something like that..anyways..when i clicked open it just brought me to the iconart program..doesnt have mai cursor or nothing..heres the link and ull see wut i mean

ok get the url ( when yu click view or w/e a new pop up may come up and just click "cancel" when it asks you what you wanna do and just copy the url)
and then put it in the code
and see if it works
