After reading this article, I was quite surprised.

I thought about my school system, and how verbally oriented it is. I seem to do well, as a girl, because of the structure and the teaching style.

The teachers I have are all women, which is hard, since it is easier for women to teach girls and men to teach boys. Feminism, although positive in many ways, could also be the reason boys are failing in school. ermm.gif

I'm really not following you. I mean, girls fail in school as much as guys do. Unless I'm wrong and you have some statistic for it. But it's illegal for public schools to separate classes by sex. Private schools can do it pretty much however they want though. I do think though, that it would be better for your school to have men and women as teachers, just to add some diversity. I have noticed that a good amount of women who are teachers are sexist against the boys they teach. My brother had to go through many teachers who didn't like him because he was a boy. But honestly, if you want to be a teacher, you should be able to teach both girls and boys. If you can only teach girls, then try some other occupation. Yeesh.

I think the only class that should have same-sex classes are gym. That's obvious. And all same-sex gym classes should have teachers of the same-sex... I didn't read the article, but I'm just answering the 'do schools need same-sex classes?' question. ;)
