This is going out on a limb, but is there a way to implement Xanga features into an existing blog.
What I mean is, I have my own web server, and I'd just love to host my blog there, without all the Xanga BS (ads, scripting limitations, etc), while still allowing people to comment the same way, maybe use the same modules (subsciptions, etc). I pretty much know the answer, but hey worth a shot, right? |

well you can have blogging programs on other websites..but i don't think you can have subscriptions and that sort of thing.

Well I'm considering using something like bBlog, but I would want the implementation to be as seamless as possible. Then there's the ever-prevalent comment-spam problem.

To answer your question, probably not. And you'd probably be better off checking the Xanga FAQs or sending an e-mail to them directly for a more certain answer.

umm.... xanga isn't able to do that.... i think lj has an option for it, among others, but xanga is still developing it i think....
http://www.xanga.com/private/editpersonalurl.aspx they do let you use your own address for your xanga.... if that's any consolation?  there's not scripts that can help with the limitations? what about going premium- that will dissipate the ads...... dunno *shrugs* like missmata said, just contact Xanga.... they're surprisingly good at answering emails like that for po'folks like us :P |
