QUOTE(Oreo_bro @ Jan 22 2005, 8:58 PM)
I'm starting to sense a little hate in this thread now..careful plz people come on.

So yeah peeps, everyone is hated on, but that doesnt mean we got to do it. So just because im christian, or he's atheist, or she's catholic, or bobs jamacin, cant we just be buddys and forget the stupidity of our past?
word.
*

The fact that everyone is hated is reality, of course, but there is hate, and then there is tolerance. We cannot deny that there are many people who do not tolerate people of a different faith and try to convert or 'convince' them to be 'saved'.

Just that word 'saved' used in religious context bothers me. The fact that people think I will go to Hell bothers me. It literally makes my eyes twitch every single time someone approaches me with that subject. The funny thing is, if I ignore them, others will come after them. It's a nonstop cycle of convincing people that I don't need to be saved by their religion.

We can forget the stupidity of the past, if others can convince themselves to learn tolerance in the present. One can hardly be tolerant when people continuously tell them that they're living for the wrong thing or that they have no purpose in life simply because their purpose is not God. How would you like it if countless people approach you just to tell you that YOUR purpose in life is wrong? I'm sure the first few won't matters, but even a saint will be pissed after a while. People should be tolerant of those who do not share their beliefs and LEAVE THEM ALONE. Well, if everyone yields a step, we can get along just fine. biggrin.gif

Christianity(or what it has become today) in my opinion, is a disrespect to Jesus himself

hmmm... ur right. the way some people are taking christianity.
im Christian (Baptist) myself, and I can see how it's going so far.

Example: gay marriage. we even have some Evanglistic Christians hating on homsexuals b/c of their sexual orientation.

Christianity tells us to love one another. But for some reason, this kind of stuff happens. We end up having some Christians hating on homosexuals just b/c of what Christians believe.

I remember Kathleen saying this.

QUOTE
Our morals, beliefs, and values come from religion

mmhmm.. thats true right there. hatred is something very hard to avoid, and sometimes, the belief of not hating on one another gets misinterpreted and we end up having some Christians hating on people of certian "sexual orientations or religions" just b/c they think it's "wicked".

I'm not a christian, but I respect christians for believing so strongly in something. My father was Jewish, and My mother was wiccan, but I don't follow either faith :-/
