Splits, Can you?

Hi! Just practice on your splits stance for a about 3-5 minutes each side everyday. I'm a dancer (ballerina) so yeah, don't give up though! :)

same here. lots of dance! lol im a little rusty on my right side but pretty dang close to the ground. but anyways just stretch. warm your legs up a bit by stretching them out (ie. quad stretches, touching toes, etc) and then split on each leg. grab a watch or something and hold it for at least 30 sec on each side and with time it will come happy.gif

Deff not. I'm not flexiable at all. Which kinda sucks. I wish I was. I've never been able to do one.. but once, I was skating, and I fell, one leg went front, one leg went back, I fell, i hurt myself, and I couldn't walk correctly for a week. LOL.. Needless to say, I can't skate

no i cant... but i suggest easing yourself into the position everday, and each day stretch just a little farther...

i can do left and right splits. im about 6 inches away from doing center. i do wushu haha. our coach just makes us streetch a lot. what you can also do is stretch after taking a really hot shower. its easier to stretch when your muscles are warm

Yes.

For cradle splits, split your legs against a flat wall and have someone push you as far as you can go. [Do all of these after a hot shower]. Hold in position for .. a while. A minute or few, I guess? Do it consistently.

For the other kind, get into split position as far down as you can go and have someone push you again. [After hot shower, when your muscles are tender and flexible] And hold. Do consistently. My mother got to the splits in about half a year, doing it about once a week or so, so you can do it, too ^^ Once you can do these, for more flexibility, place two pillows at each end of your legs, that way, it'll be more than split, it will be up-split!
