did you read my first post? _smile.gif just making sure.

yes, it's hard to believe sometimes. but sometimes when i find it hard to believe things, i think to myself: God has brought me this far; for 17 years he's taken care of me, so i will stop worrying and trust that he'll take care of me for the rest of my life. even though i may go through trials and suffering, it'll all be worth it in the end because it will make me a stronger Christian =)

QUOTE(uninspiredfae @ Jan 17 2005, 11:58 AM)
God is the highest perfection but He must give His only Son to save Mankind from our own sins. Even though He is the most perfect, the all powerful, He still HAD to give away His Son to get rid of our sins. If ever a more contradictory logic exist, I would like to know.

You're people staff now?? Way cool!

That said, I hope that I do not come out as weak or something, but I am stumped. I am not all knowing, so I cannot answer fully to all your comment _unsure.gif ... I will seek help and will get back to you ASAP. happy.gif
I can answer the above comment though. God did not HAVE to give his only son. He did it out of love. Also, Jesus chose to come to earth and become human and die. If God was not loving he would have banished us all from the face of the universe.

Sorry again if I sound repetitive, but how can something that some deem as unexsistent (those that do not believe in God) reward and give something existent? Meaning, if a person does not believe in God, how can that person expect to be rewarded by something they don't even believe in?

I was surprised myself. I thought I was a tad too... erm.... opinionated to be considered in.

I think my comment wasn't well phrased so I'll try again... I meant to ask why is it that Jesus must die so that our sins are erased. If God was powerful and loved mankind, then shouldn't He has the power to erase our sins without needing the death of Christ?

I do not think anyone would "expect" a reward if they know true love. Love is a reward in itself and if a Heavenly Father would grant that love to everyone and make that love known for certainty to each person, then no one should doubt or have dislike of that Father. If there is true, unconditional love, then why is there Hell?

If someone (non-Christian) lived a morally lead life then saved a life and lost his/her own during the process, he/she do not expect to be compensated in the after life if it existed, but he/she would not want to be punished for all that he/she has done simply because he/she doesn't believe in something either. I think, that is where people "expect" something. Perhaps it is not reward that non-Christians are looking for but peace in death.

God is a good God he is just meaning he is a God of justice. as much as he loves you, if you choose evil he must condem you to hell. he didnt take it back, you can choose to do what you want you choose what you want, paradise or the lake of fire.

who the hell do u think u are? the chosen one????

i don't believe in a god. THERE. i said it. send me a one-way ticket to hell for all i care. I'm not going to read the bible because there's no proof that anything written in there is true. All of the Christians posting in this forum are providing the same facts that I've heard over and over again. Many Christians [including some people in here] are closed-minded and feel that people that don't believe in their god are going to hell. Isn't it true that the bible states to "respect others of different religions"? Don't provide me with all of this mumbo jumbo that's supposed to brain wash my mind with information to make me believe in god...because I'm not buyin it.

I just can't picture an oh-so powerful God sending man to earth to create life. It doesn't make any sense to me. I believe in evolution...and that human beings evolved from animals whom were originally on this earth millions of years ago. [especially gorillas/apes] To me...this theory makes sense and can be recognized as a possible way that we were formed. You can clearly see the resemblence between gorillas and humans.

I'm not being closed-minded...because I have respect for the Christians that don't try to brain wash people with quotes and statements that make them feel uneasy. But the people that do piss me off extremely. You can't force someone to believe a certain way. By repeatedly saying that god loves you no matter what...he sacrificied himself for us...it doesn't make me believe in god any tad bit more. I can't stand to read the posts in here. You can talk about your religion all you want...but don't overdo it..

for those with christian views, please provide sufficient proof and back up your opinions with facts. facts do not include:

- God loves us all no matter what.
- God is real, I feel him!
- You just have to believe!

etc.

give us logical proof and we will believe.

QUOTE(sporadic @ Aug 18 2004, 11:20 AM)
It does seem like you're trying to scare me into believing into God. The more you talk about God, the more I start not liking the idea of there being a God. And how you talk about him makes him seem like he's trying to make people fear him, and therefore obey.
*

As comedian Jim Gaffigan said, "I'd like everyone to feel comfortable, so that is why I would like to talk to you about Jesus. (laughs) Does anything make you feel more uncomfortable than having someone come up to you and say "I'd like to talk to you about Jesus."? "

I think that sums it up.

There are probably a ton of people who have gone through worse things than that. Near Death experiences, having people close to them killed, and somehow they have faith.

Hey, my parents can piss me off as well. That is inevitable. I can tell you that. I know people who seem to be worse off, and have a better grasp of reality, and just go on, and believe in what they do.
People change over time. It happens. And we (teenages, most likely) Don't have the grestest grasp of that concept, that is why everything seems to be against us in our 'hard' years.
