yes, but that doesn't mean we have to welcome them into our society with a tax break and the marriage benifit.

There are a lot of orphans and well if their gay, and they can't "have it" then it'll be like a good thing to adopt and give the child somewhere to live. I have nothing against gay marriages. I think it's all good. There's nothing bad about gays/lesbians/bi people.

you should be opposed to it because America is the last free country and we are steadily losing moral freedoms. By letting Gay marriage prevail today you are placing the stepping stones to the tribulation. When our country turns against israel then the whole world will turn against God's chosen people making the last world war before Christ's army comes and sends everyone not on his side to their final judgement in hell.

not to mention it is morally wrong to pay two very good sexual friends to be together. why dont you give all same sex roommates marriage benefits?

wow, good argument guys!

my opinion - gay people should be able to do watever straight people do, including getting married and having kids (well adopting kids)..

i also dont think its fair that we have a president that is religous, i dont think its fair that he brings religion into the american life ... i mean why are the christians so against it - no one is making them do anything!

I can't wait till the US turns against Israel. Maybe then will the problems in the Middle East stop.

And how is the US the last free country in the world? Last time I checked the larger countries in Europe were as democratic (which is not much) as the US. If the US was indeed as "free" as you say, then homosexuals would benefit from the law in the same way that heterosexuals do.

Well since I am religious, I don't believe in gay marriages. God juss did not intend to make the only 2 human species on earth to fall in love with the same gender. I know it conflicts with free will and everything and what does it have to do with anything if they love each other, but I really believe God made each and every thing for a good reason.

throughout history in different cultures coupling has been between a man and a woman under a higher power. Every record of a higher power that was not written to benefit one man in king like power has shown homosexuality as an abomination. Marriage being a coupling that acknowledges a higher power that despises gay coupling is a contradiction of the meaning of marriage itself.

well i live in san francisco, so i have no problem with anyones sexuality. i think gay people should be allowed to get married...they deserve to be just as happy as straight people. who cares if it isn't written in the bible

Sheez, I'm freaking tired of this topic...and Im gay! Ok, those people who said that it shouldn't be legallized, u dont even have any argueement or anything to back up what ur saying. I've only seen like two people out of the whole freaking thread actually giving reasons why they don't want gay marriages legallized. And what they're saying, quite frankly, is pure crap! Legallizing gay marriages will do absolutly nothing to the freaking united states, it'll just get some folks bark about this and that and then when they see that nothing has happened they'll just move on to whatever the hell they think is wrong...

...im grumpy, sorry

im not against gay marriages at all. they can choose who to like themselves and there should be an option whether theyd like to get married or not. i dont think theres a reasonable reason enough to go against it i mean its not like they want to be gay or anything. as long as theyre happy and dont harm anyone then its all good.

Hmmm... considering that this is a "forum", I think people have a right to respond to whatever topic that isn't closed in an appropriate way. Who are you to tell people to stop responding? rolleyes.gif

Hey, if it makes you happy, do it. I don't care. It doesn't affect anything for me. Even if I were Christian I wouldn't care. It's not like I'm gay and I'm marrying someone else gay. It's just someone else. I don't get why this is such a big deal.

Please, child, do you really want to argue what close mindedness is?

I'll tell you what it is... It's accepting that gays are a-okay, then hate on people who happen to carry a different opinion just because of their culture/upbringing.

If you can hate, how come others can't? So please... eat your own words.

Children should be able to determine their own sexuality. No one should try to stop what comes naturally. Maybe if we open our minds to this idea, homosexuals won't be discriminated against. IMO, any type of discrimination just isn't cool.

The McGreevey scandal has had no effect I believe because people have not thought out the implications. Let me lay out a scenario for you: You and your wife are sleeping peacefully in your bed when you are suddenly awakened by the sound of crashing glass. You look over and there is McGreevey, entering through your window. Your wife groggily wakes up and McGreevey leaps over and pistol-whips her into unconsciousness. You start to get out of bed to defend yourself, but he shoots you in the foot. He then drags you into the living room and does unspeakable things to you. When your wife wakes up she finds your battered and abused body laying on the floor. She is now a widow. I ask you Dems, is this what you want?

And I was merely using McGreevey as an example, it could be any gay/lesbian/transgendered person coming through the window. I was showing what could become a common occurrence in American homes if we don't watch out. While I hate to make this a political issue, this could happen if Kerry is elected.

Then why do you care so much about what others think about gays? How others people thinking negatively affect you? Even if you are gay, people STILL have the right to think, right?

Don't you pay attention to yourself enough? Stop worrying about what doesn't concern you, then. rolleyes.gif
