Lol. She made an oopsy there. Haha.

But uhm LP is cool... its just that since their last CD
If i hadn't known any better, and they got anymore Rated G...

I could've sworn they were a Christian Rock Band mellow.gif

But I'd much rather listen to Co&Ca or Slip, or Senses Fail, Saosin, Fall Out Boy, Death Cab for Cutie, Franz Ferdinand, MAH, etc.

none of the bands anyone has listed here are "emo"... emo is NOT dashboard or tbs, it's more like rites of spring and jawbreaker. it kinda pisses me off when people put bands into a classification of music which they don't fit in at ALL. fourfa.com has a good history of music that is actually "emo". but whatever floats your boat....

ps- this isn't directed to anyone specifically.

no, dashboard is not emo. people think that because somehow they started getting labeled as "emo" because "lyke omg they're so emotional", even though someone like tupac could even be considered "emotional", which that is why the term "emo" was given only to more sensitive, but still hardcore, punk bands in the 80's. people have completely bastardized that word, and are labeling new bands with it, even though none of them fit. so i guess your saying "modern emo" equals "completely mislabeled bands that have no relation to the actual style of the genre which they are considered to fall under"?

blah blah bloo shut up.

It's music.

So everyone.. take a deep breathe, and take all the spoons in ur ass.
Then say hello.

Stop drinking the haterade, and just let it be.
Or.. how `bout we just categorize everything in either..

MAINSTREAM or UNDERGROUND or OLDIES yuh?
Cause every type of music/lifestyle has its underground its mainstream and its oldies RIGHT? right.

uh, i wasn't trying to start anything, i just thought that was an ignorant statement, and thought i'd explain to her a little bit of the history of a genre that almost everyone is misinformed about, so she could learn a little bit. i agree with your last point, but what i was trying to say was that the bands being classified into that gerne don't fit in it at all anymore (that doesn't mean they're not good, though). but i guess you're right, music is just music and i shouldn't care or try to dictate. sorry if i pissed you off, that wasn't my intention.

anyways, a cursive memory is a pretty good band. check them out- purevolume.com/acursivememory
