Im 14, 5'6, and I weigh 90 lbs. My arms looks like twigs, and I have to listen t everyone around school whispering "OMG! Shes anorexic!!!" Im not anorexic though, I eat. Even my friends talk about how skinny I am, and make fun of me to my face saying, "Wheres ___My name____?" and then "Oh shes just turned sideways" Its not great. So you girls who are regular weight have no idea what its like to be "thin". Its NOT fun. I've had to deal with it since I was in 3rd grade or so. I cant find pants anywhere, because if they're too big, they're long enough, but if they fit my waist, they are too short. When I bend over you can see my spine, and I dont even have enough stomach fat to cover my bellybutton. My thighs are about 6 inches wide. Although my rib cage doesnt show, it does when I put my hands up. I eat three times a day, but nothing happens. I stay the same weight. I frequently have people coming up to me saying "Your too skinny" "Go eat a bag of chips" "you look like a starving african baby"
Its not that easy, just go eat. No. I eat, I dont gain, I dont eat a meal, I loose weight like that. Im not bragging. Im sickening skinny, and its not something to be proud of.

It's not that great to be skinny. If you look at hot girls, they have a healthy amount of meat on their arms/legs/etc. Muscle, I suppose. But a lot is genetic.

you're still a child. you haven't yet developed yet. give it time.

and i want to also say.. that a lot of you people that have posted are inconsiderate. you keep telling her "it's better to be skinny than fat" what is wrong with being fat? i don't get picked up for being fat nor i have i ever. i am fat, and i like the way i am. just because someone is fat doesn't mean that they are a incompetent idiot or something along those lines. there is nothing wrong with being overweight. you can be overweight and healthy at the same time.

You're still growing. Give your body time. Eat the way you normally do. Don't get all self-concious about what other people think too.

QUOTE(ichiban @ Jan 1 2005, 11:25 PM) *
Yeah. i'm 12, 5'4 and only 90 lbs. it's not the type of skinny where people go like "wow, nice body" or whatever. people are always like "you look like a twig," and no, it's not a compliment. i'm sick of looking at my wrists/arms, which look like ... very skinny sticks. and i'm not really exaggerating. and buying clothes really SUCKS, because whenever i try on pants or a shirt they always hang off of me because im too skinny.

no matter how much i eat, i dont gain any weight. and yes i do eat healthy food and i dont even exercise that much because im too lazy.

nobody should have a "wow, nice body" body when they're 12.

Honestly, if you're between the ages of 11-15, you guys are still developing. In fact, you're probably at the beginning stage of getting your curves, and filling up where you should be filling up. Hell, I'm 18 and still developing.

That being said, I know a lot of chicks my age that have the same problem. Honestly, I don't find anything wrong with it. You guys get to pull of the cutest Asian styles (if that's what you're into) and look stellar. ;)

Everyone has a different body type, and most people are far from content with theirs. The grass is greener on the other side. Love your body, learn its strengths, work with it.

I'm almost 20. I'm 5'8" and I weigh less than 110.
It may be hard to hear "you look like a twig" and have everyone around you assume you have an eating disorder, but it's something you have to get used to. Some people naturally have a high metabolism.
The best way to gain weight is protein suppliments and working out. Muscle weighs more than fat.

I, myself, am too lazy to do that. So, I just live my skinny life and tell everyone to go... themselves.

I can tell you when you get into your 20s and 30s you probably will wish you had that high metabolism.

That's like complaining because your complexion is flawless. As long as you eat healthily, I really wouldn't rub it in.

I'm 18. 5ft 2 and I weigh just above 70lb. I have a 22 inch waist and
yes, I am "anorexic". But my eating is not a problem these days as such.

I've always been very slim, always. Whether I eat alot or not, it really
doesn't make a difference. I've never been "average" and some
people are just like that. I think that's a good thing.

But I TOO struggle with finding pants to fit me! And I'm 18 years old!
It is a pain in the ass. I've resorted to having my jeans tailor-made,
specially fitted.

If the thinness of your appearance bothers you, try wearing the right
clothes for your body type! I'd stay away from baggy tees, they will only
shrink you down. If you dress for your body type, you'll look great.
No matter how small you are. Think Audrey Hepburn!

Also, you're all still very young! Remember you've yet to fully develope.

When I was 13, I thought most of my girfriends looked healthly slim.
I was also in a mind set that everyone was prettier than myself.
Now I see them around, and their very big! Enormous, even!!
(You don't want that?!) And here I am, still very petite, with my 22 inch
waist - but very attractive to the public eye, I don't pass anybody by
unnoticed. It weighs out the flaws of being told that I'm skinny.
-I'm not offended!

i noticed most of you complaining about your low weight (not related to an eating disorder) are around 12/13. Have any of you got any boobs yet? you probably haven't even gone through puberty yet, right? Or are just starting? Trust me, you'll gain weight once you pass 13. Then your problem is keeping it off, not on.
But if you have serious weight problems, go to the doctor. They know more than some teenagers on a forum.

You're still growing. My ribcage showed when i was that age too, but as puberty hit& years gone by, you start to realize that it doesn't really MATTER as long as you're healthy. It's not like you're going to strip in front of someone when you're 15 & even if you do, you'd probably be secure with yourself first. I mean if you can't even love the way you look, how are you supposed to handle whatever is supposed to happen later on?

Generally, just accept it. You'll start to not notice it anymore if you don't pay SO much attention into it. I didn't even realize my ribcage stopped showing& i gained some fat. I'm not going to brag about how "so damn skinny" i am either 'cause honestly, i just want to eat. I'm not worrying about my image too badly, just happy that i have something to full me up. _smile.gif
