Paint a Picture of My Soul
we shade the fields and pastures bovine and grasses and above the prairies in this sky we color it light we fill in the grays to show the coming storm the darks and the wet swarm covering form shivering at the core as we spill another spraying the background full of the ages shred away luster and signs of new in an apocalypse the candle slips and we fear oranges for the cinders and red for the flame staining the back as it melts to ash with a crash the warmth becoming violent as it tears away our creation has fallen as an empire and died as a slave serving the masses as a pile of ashes it trys to veer away as the inferno suffocates it is brewing in the distance cold and silent rains pour down upon it as the flames extinguish the warmth relinquishes it's reign to the cold insurmountable as the lion as king we see purple rains charcoal as the setting beneath scene filling the rest t'was still blackened and dark beyond utter darkness golden greed has deepened the need as these valourless dynasties pour over as a wave under the white flag they slaughter the white oil innocence aimless without honor they swore an oath of fallacy maliciously taking the marks to paint their lives gold to cover all their inadequaceies of old spirited away truth and trust all weathered with rust burnt sienna shaved upon the molded sight inked yellow daffodils prance along the sidelines fireflies floating around the great green pines specks of dirt wetted and left at the base the brown vase crushed upon these and alas the masterpiece has become complete |
