or you can use a div. at the begining of your entry, click edit html and put this:

but change the width, height and the opacity to however you want.

in that xanga, he actually made a whole div transparent. u do this by adding this:

filter: alpha (opacity=60);

u can change the opacity number, if its higher - the more transparent it gets [i think]

if u want to make the whole div transparent simply add that into ur div

ex:
<div style="filter: alpha(opacity=60); width:100; height:100">
