how to add a background picture?, help! Options

Hi, i just trying to use this script here one color fade to another color from left to right as my background....but then i think its still kinda plain looking...but how come the background picture that i had at look&feel before won't show up anymore?
is there any way to add a background picture on top of that fading background?
please help me!!! THanks alot!
