I don't think nursery rhymes effect us as much as TV.
But yes, a lot of them were based on actual events in the past that may have been sad, violent, or cruel. Rock a'bye baby.. On the tree top When the wind blows The cradle will rock When the branch breaks The cradle will fall And down will come baby Cradle and all. Happened a lot in France. |
