Yeah, I guess people shoplift from them. They checked my bag and receipt when I was leaving as well. In fact, they wouldn't even let me touch the DS Lite until after I had finished paying for it. An employee brought it to the register.

Compare to 1st gen Gameboy:

Yeah they do that at Target too, I have to bring the products to the register, I can't give them to the guest.

I still don't consider the PSP a gaming system.

I think you should consider getting Brain Age instead. BBA has more games, but Brain Age has sudoku and its more tailored to older people while BBA is for younger kids.

Oh, and I just ordered a GBA Movie Player, which should come within the next few weeks.

In the end I want both, but my mom has BA already, so I can play hers when she comes to visit, and then get it (or get her to get it for me for my b-day :-D)

I really want the New Super Mario Bros. But Im waiting until I gather up gift cards from the BJs I work at for getting people to sign up for memberships.

PSP hands down, being an owner of both.

PSP has everything you could ever want. MP3s, DVD's, Web Browser, TV, much better games and a whole lot more all in a slick, sweet, and sexy package.

Ok, I just sounded like a pereverted nerd but the PSP is just that good. Yes, gooooood.

Ha, thank you. I guess if you consider the old N64 ports, DS has better games. I really don't count those. Just get out your N64. The only new game I really see that's any good for the DS is Metroid Hunters. It's pretty fun. And actually they have TV now for PSP, so you probably shouldn't have fixed that. Oh, and could you also put in that PSP's graphics are much, much, much better then the DS? I forgot to put that in there. happy.gif Also, you can put DVD's you already own on your PSP, so it's really the same thing. Do a little research.

I guess the games come down to if you want to hop around with Mario, or kick some ass with the SEALS. But, then again, that's why I bought both. laugh.gif

Better to have N64 ports with added content than watered down PSX games. Plus, how many games recently have been N64 ports? Let's be realistic here. Compate the libraries of each handheld and it is obvious which is the better gaming device.

Yes, the PSP is a great media device. But for me, it's one of those jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none devices. I can watch movies and listen to music on my DS, but I opt not to even put music on there since my mp3 player is a purpose-built device which specializes in playing music. To me, the PSP is better in media functions than in gaming, but even then, there are more cost effective solutions for playing media. Memory sticks are an inferior format in that they are slow and expensive, so you're better off just getting a PvP for those kind of things. Or if I still wanted to play games on the same device, I'd get a GP2X.

Games I want for the PSP: Rockman, GTA:LCS, Katamari (though I hear it's nowhere near as good as the PS2 games because the control scheme is awful), Metal Gear and Loco Roco. In fact, I'm more interested in the homebrew capabilities of the PSP than the actual games themselves. But again, if I really want to get into homebrew, I'd want the GP2X.

The DS games (as well as a handheld itself) are pretty damn close to perfectly designed for a handheld, which is expected of a company that has been making them for nearly 20 years. The PSP is not a bad first try for Sony, but it's clearly a miss, which hopefully they will learn from in the next round.

Both machines are capable of doing pretty much what the other can do. I see it this way, the DS is a gaming machine that does media on the side, while the PSP is a media machine that does gaming on the side. I'm a gamer first, and that's why I chose the DS.

^ I can't believe you just wrote all that. blink.gif

I never disagreed with you bro. I seriously doubt the PSX games would be watered down though.

Anyway, I own both the DS and PSP and all I said was that I like the PSP better. Those games suit my style. If you're content with the DS, ok. Good for you. That's your opinion.

You could even call me a Nintendo Fanboy. I love Nintendo, I just find myself reaching for my PSP more often then my DS. The games are more fun to me. I'm not going to say "I love DS" just because I love Nintendo. cool.gif Do you have a PSP? I think you'd like it a lot once you actually sit down and play both.

My cousin and several of my friends own it, and I can't stand the load times and battery life. Wipeout Pure is awesome though.

^ Yeah, Sony isn't too swell with load times. PSX and PS2 have been known for their slow load times.

I think I like my DS more, since I can load my RPGs from the GBA such as Final Fantasy I & II, Final Fantasy IV, and Breath of Fire.

I end up playing GBA games on my DS more than DS Games, I can't wait until the remake of Final Fantasy III comes out for the DS though, same with Megaman ZX.

Here's my review:

It sticks out of the DS lite like a monster. It's not so bad when in a first gen DS though, and the color matches better too. The box says it runs NES and GBA roms that are 200kb or less. It loads TXT files, which is pretty nifty. However, the sound quality isn't that great. Encoding movies into the gbm format is an annoying hurdle. I guess it's understandable, since it's using the GBA, not the DS hardware to play it, but still :( I suppose it was worth the $20 something I paid for it, but if you really want a good media player, this isn't it. Nintendo's official player, the Play-Yan, is supposed to be much, much better, though more expensive.

PSP is the better of the two and has the most potential. Sony just needs to get on the ball.

hi! the DS is so cool! i want to get that one... but i also want to get the PSP! They got awesome games on them!

PSP... PSP is PS2 and PS3's companion. On top of that, PSP is very versatile and can do a lot more than you can imagine.
