QUOTE(kryogenix @ Jan 18 2006, 9:08 PM) Dude, you're arguing over handheld games and you're calling him gay? It's called Play-Yan, you insert a compactflash/SD card into it. You don't need an empty flash cart. Haha. But they also have the empty GBA cartㄱidges. ![]() QUOTE 512Mb GBA X-ROM Card + Linker = 89 USD!
If you are one of the few people who are still without a gba Flash Card - this is the time to get one. EasyBuy2000 the exclusive distributor of GBA X-ROM has reduced the price of the 512 Mb set to $89 USD! Must be one of Christmas miracles - I remember how we had to pay 300 bucks for 512M Flash Advance set just a couple of years ago. Maybe X-ROM isn't the absolute best gba roms card but it sure is cheapest 512 M card and THE BEST at its price! How does it compare to other cards? The same as most of the Gameboy Flash cards: Xrom is Gameboy Advance and GBA SP compatible. Same as the latest models of XG2Turbo and EZ-Flash 2 it has Real-Time Clock (RTC). Support hardware savers. Can be used for playing NES, SNES, SEGA, Spectrum, GB and PCE roms. New version of PogoShell now supports all 512M of the rom card! Xrom Uses one of the best Flash Writers out there - LittleWriter and that adds save game auto backup, cheat code support and many more features. Software at this point it is much better than what it was when Xrom was just released. Now you can adjust the clock and date in the cards main menu. Also flashing times have improved. What Xrom doesn't have that other cards do: It is bigger than F2A ultra or EZFA / ECube, it doesn't have the quick save buttons that F2A Ultra cards do and Xrom USB cable can not write roms to GBA internal VRAM memory like EZFA can but none of these features make any difference if what you want to do is simply play GAME ROMS from the Flash Card... You can buy GBA X-ROM Card & Linker at EasyBuy2000 Order one now so that you get it before the holidays. |

The DS and Nintendo are aimed to attract younger customers. Hence the Gamecube has only around 5 rated M games. So there wouldn't be any good games for it. The only thing that might be neat is the touch screen ability.
The Sony PSP is aimed for all aged customers, they have a nice arsenal of games for all. Lumines for the childeren, while you can load up some good 'ol Grand Theft Auto and get loose. The PSP is also capable of accessing the internet, playing movies on the UMD disk, and storing music and photos on the memory stick that is included with the PSP package. |

The only thing that might be neat is the touch screen ability. Did you know that m-rated games only make up about 15% of game sales overall, and that the majority of games are E-rated? Infact, in 2005, nearly 85% of all games sold were either E, T, or E10+ and over 50% were E alone. And lets get things straight, there ARE good games for the DS, I know because I own one, and play it. Do you have one? Have you played any games for it? "Oh I played a demo of Pac Pix and it sucked", that means nothing. Unless you actually play a remote amount of games for it you cant really judge. Games like Castlevania and Mario kart DS would own just about any PSP game out there right now. QUOTE The Sony PSP is aimed for all aged customers, they have a nice arsenal of games for all. Lumines for kids? 1) Just because the content is tame, doesnt mean the difficulty isnt too hard for the youngin's. 2) The PSP commercials contain squirrels talking about how if they had a cool ship they could get the ladies. Is that a child appropriate commericial? Is that something a kid should be worried about? No. Its obviously aimed at the late teens early twenties category of gamers. Movies on UMDs? They cost almost twice as much as DVDs! And yet theyre still outselling the games? Thats pathetic if you ask me. The DS is capable of accessing the internet, playing movies and storing music, you can even run linux on it! /steps back and tags in Kryo |

Woah are you guys representatives of Nintendo/Sony?
Geesh, calm the heck down. Just stick to the system you like, and enjoy it. It doesn't have to be "better" than the other system if it makes you happy =]. Why you guys research all this stuff to point out bad points about the other system is beyond me. Don't argue. Let's all hug and [make] love. |

Sure, they mgiht either be expensive or a pain, but stilll, it's capable, and thats the good thing. Well, for the PSP, there are tons of hacks and stuff you can do. You can run VNC on it, and Mac OS on it too. So, you can probably run Linux on it somehow. |

But, alas, it can still play online games! And pretty damned well if you ask me. |

i own both haha, i got the DS for free in an achievers thing from best buy, and the psp was a gift.
dont get me wrong both of em' are great. but if i had to pick one i think it'll be the psp. maybe because i do more with it, and spend more time with it. like putting music on it, watching movies, making backrounds, and most importantly, playing games! iono i just have more fun playing the games that are available on psp than i do the DS. maybe im wierd, but i just find need for speed most wanted, and GTA:LCS alittle bit more fun than nintendogs and meteos, touch screen or not. because it feels like the fun relies more on the touch screen on the DS. and when it comes to PSP the games are supposed to create the fun. thats how its supposed to be. but i appreciate the DS less because i got it for free, who knows. but i still like the DS dont get me wrong! but psp is just....better in my opinion. hell psp even looks better. like, for example, my mom she treats the DS like a toy, and calls it a toy, and lets my 6 year old sister play with it QUOTE Did you know that m-rated games only make up about 15% of game sales overall, and that the majority of games are E-rated? Infact, in 2005, nearly 85% of all games sold were either E, T, or E10+ and over 50% were E alone. gamecube doesnt even get the best E and T games.... and any good E and T game they do get, usually comes out for all systems. Sony's Top franchise games are: Grand theft Auto, Final fantasy Series, Metal Gear series,Gran Turismo series,Tekken series,Devil may cry series, and any naughty dog and insomniac game. what does nintendo have for me to look forward to? "Zelda,Metroid, and mario games." and in my own opinion games like call of Duty beat out Metroid, and final fantasy versus Zelda? pshhh hell, kingdom hearts beats zelda in my opinion. and grand theft auto vs. the mario games.......well gee, iono thats a close one! |

QUOTE(L!ckitySplit @ Jan 22 2006, 9:05 PM) maybe im wierd, but i just find need for speed most wanted, and GTA:LCS alittle bit more fun than nintendogs and meteos, touch screen or not. Fun is subjective, I'm not criticizing your opinion, but I'll tell you how I think. PSP games feel way too watered down. The PSP's control scheme doesn't work out for games that are based on console games. The analog numb is often out of reach. QUOTE because it feels like the fun relies more on the touch screen on the DS. and when it comes to PSP the games are supposed to create the fun. thats how its supposed to be. I don't see what you're getting at here. The DS games take advantage of the touchscreen, so the games ARE creating the fun. QUOTE but i appreciate the DS less because i got it for free, who knows. but i still like the DS dont get me wrong! but psp is just....better in my opinion. hell psp even looks better. like, for example, my mom she treats the DS like a toy, and calls it a toy, and lets my 6 year old sister play with it Did your mom buy the PSP? She treats it as like an expensive thing because it IS an expensive thing. The DS is less expensive, but it's by no means "cheap." IIRC, some guys took it to Mt. Everest along with other gadgets. Laptops, mp3 players and even the PSP broke on the trip up, but the DS survived. Price is a big reason why I will buy the DS before I buy the PSP. $130 for a DS and Mario Kart vs. $250 for the PSP pack with no games. Yes, the PSP has more features, but after buying just one game and a big enough memory card, you're already down $300-400. On the subject of movies, price is another issue. If I had a PSP, i'd either need to re-buy DVDs that I already own in UMD form, or buy an expensive Memory Stick Duo (not to mention proprietary). For the DS to play media, a $30 attachment and a $50 CF card is all that is needed. Or, you can buy a portable DVD player, they usually cost $100 or less nowadays. On the subject of internet use, I think it's a novelty. It's not bad to have, but unnecessary on a videogame handheld. I buy handhelds to play games. I have a cellphone for communicating. I haven't been a big fan of browsing on small screens, or typing with a weird interface. It's a pain to type on the PSP. As for looking better, I'm not a big fan of the black PSP, as it smudges so much. But the ceramic white one is just gorgeous. Also, putting a PSP in a case is a MUST because the screen is vulnerable. I get annoyed when I see kids just jam it into their pockets with their keys (same with iPods and etc.). And the battery life is a killer. QUOTE gamecube doesnt even get the best E and T games.... and any good E and T game they do get, usually comes out for all systems. Who has the best E and T games then? ROFL at tekken and naughty dog. GTA, Final Fantasy and DMC are overrated. Metal Gear is great, but isn't Twin Snakes available for the cube? Forza for the XBOX beats out Gran Turismo by miles. You're comparing games that are cross genre now... If you're talking about WW and Sunshine, you may have an arguement (why are you talking about non DS/PSP games again?), but the Zelda franchise and Mario franchises are the best in the world. They didn't have to rely on FMV cutscenes (and people thought Nintendo was being gimmicky with the touchscreen), and instead sold games because they are just pure fun. |

DS comes out with a smaller, more polished looking one soon, it hink.
and can't it play movies and MP3s like the PSP, just nintendo wants to promote it as a gaming machine because they're a gaming company, not an entertainment one? |

I like both, the reason I have a PSP, is because of Twisted Metal: Head On, and Megaman Maverick Hunter X. Aside from that there's not that many games that's really good for the PSP so far, cept of course Smackdown vs. Raw 2006 and Madden, though I'd rather get that for console instead of handheld.
DS however has Mario Kart and a few other games. The latest Pokemon game is also coming out for the DS, I'm waiting for that. |

I like psp cuz u can watch movies, listen to music, and the game graphics are amazing, but i have to admit Nintendo DS has hella more fun games to play. i hate how the movies are a f**king ripoff for the PSP, they cost almost as much as dvds, and sometimes even more. the memory cards are ridiculously expensive too.
