DS or PSP Options

Ahhhhh! I've already had my debate in this topic soo anyway....

I am this close--> |      | to getting one. I know I said (in the beginning of this topic) I was gonna pre-order it............
I have the money. I know I want it. But I just got a fcking Apple Powerbook.
And as for the whole "DS has better games" thing.......

there are RUMORS that Monkey Island might make it on to the DS. That bit of news is QUITE frustrating. AHHHH!!!!!!!

if monkey island makes it on the DS that would be awesome. guybrush is the man.

katamari damacy is on the DS too! when advance wars for DS comes out, i'm definitely going to pick one up.

I'm most attracted to the PSP. I still haven't gotten one yet, but the multiple functions and graphic features are something that I prefer over the DS. Anyway, I love Sony...

DS games are hardly aimed at little kids. The controls alone are complicated enough to prove that. The games arent kiddy as much as theyre player friendly. They're (for the most part) pick up and go games. The kind of games people like to have on that long ass car ride to disney world or wherever.

More visually pleasing? Thats just shallow. I mean, whether you mean visually in terms of the system, in which means absolutely nothing, or visually in terms of the games, which really also means nothing, its still a thoughtless response. I mean, in essence, there are two things which make a handheld really good, the games, and the battery life. Now, granted, for now DS games arent the best, but they are good games. Take Feel the Magic, Mario 64, and Wario Ware for example. Theyre just FUN. Thats what games are supposed to be. FUN. Not gory, not mature, not gritty or ill tempered. Theyre meant to be fun. Something people can enjoy. And at their roots, video games originated as such. No one bought Asteroids or Donkey Kong because it was adult oriented. Granted, video games are becoming more artistic, and yes, in that are becoming more mature, but whether or not a system has alot of those mature titles shouldnt sway your opinion on which systyem is better! Especially in a simplistic style as the handheld games. Those, moreso than consoles, are meant to be the pick up and play types. Few people want to sit on their butt for 50 hours playing a gritty realistic shooter or a fantasy RPG that they can play just as well on a TV console. Now, granted, some of these games were MEANT for handhelds, at least in terms of RPGs, but the DS will have those. Granted, the games arent super right now, but neither are the PSPs. I mean, Id sooner play Dynasty Warriors on the PS2 which has the power to put over 100 or however many characters on the screen at once.

As for internet access, umm...get a computer. Oh wait, you have one, or you wouldnt be posting here. So, you must mean online capabilities for the games, in which case, the DS has that as well.

I think the nintendo ds is better. Nintendo ds owners will have a better time with it in the long run rather than a playstation portable. This is because the nintendo ds's battery has a longer life on a full charge with playing games.
You could play up to about fifteen hours of game straight on the nintendo ds's full charge, with a playstation portable you only have about ten hours of straight game play. And in the long run, you'll have to replace the playstation portable's battery before you have to do so with the nintendo ds.
Plus, you can't chat with a playstation portable, I love nintendo ds's pictochat program, it's the best.
They're also selling adapters for the nintendo ds so it can play mpeg4 video and mp3 audio that's saved on a flash memory card or an sd memory card.
See, now the nintendo ds can do all the things the playstation portable can do besides one thing, and that's to show digital pictures. Who needs that option anyway? The ds also has one option above the playstation portable and that's the pictochat program.
So bar none, nintendo ds is my choice.

I purchased the Nintendo DS and I didn't like it so I gave it to my sister. The PsP pwns. But, then again, its whichever you prefer. Like the XBox for example, a better piece of hardware, I can't stand it and I'm stuck in my Sony ways.

Too bad the DS can't go into the Gameboy games. I want to play Tetris on it, but I guess it's pointless since the DS is too good for it.

I prefer the DS. I've actually had to do a lot of research on which handheld that I want. I prefer the DS because mainly it has Super Mario 64 on it. The dual screens and touchable screens appeal to me too.

i didnt vote because i dont have either and one of my friends has a DS, and a bunch of others all have PSPs. I like how the DS has two screens--its kind of cool.

The PSP is more popular and has more good games than the DS, and I like the graphics - but ive rarely seen a DS, so i can't really say much...

id never buy it, though (at least while its priced at over $300 and the games are like what..64 to boot?). i just dont have that kind of money :P. i've almost saved up enough money to get a ds though :3 i want to play the little black and pink bomber game i play all the time on my friends ds XD

The psp is pretty cool but I'd prefer ds over it.
The news that was announced at e3 was that nintendo is now going to provide online capabilities for the ds so people can play each other cross country. And there are so many other cool games that utilizes all of the nintendo ds's features like nintendogs and animal crossings.
Just you wait, people will start coming back for the ds.

actually, i heard the DS version has extra features. plus, how is this nintendo's fault? shouldn't it be the developers fault for releasing the same game (even though it isn't the same game)?

i believe that this feature (3d space fighting and multiplayer) is the part that is exclusive to the DS version. i actually don't care enough to verify it (i don't plan on getting the game), but hating a handheld because a developer released two similar games for different handhelds is a bit unjustified.

DS IS OWNAGE! Can the PSP go world wide without a wireless router? nope, can the DS do that? yes, via hotspots. you do the math, can you use a stylus on a PSP and move things freely?, nope.

i currently have a DS handheld myself, got it the first day it came out =)
