okay so I wanted to point this out when november started, but I'll point it out now.

Where I'm from.. right after halloween everything turned into christmas. You see christmas candy, decorations, lights, etc. already coming out. I didn't see crap for thanksgiving. Did anyone else feel like their city neglected november's special holiday?

the store near my house is kinda weird.
they were selling thanksgiving decorations before halloween started.
then after halloween, they started selling christmas decorations.
it's just the way stores sell decorations for different holidays.
they sell it early so they don't have an urgent rush and need for holiday decorations at the last minute.

Just go to your nearest grocery store the day before Thanksgiving and you'll see everyone honoring that holiday instead of Christmas. Those old, senile people will run you over with their carts if you're not careful.

yeah i guess people just autmatically think christmas after halloween, cuz it's like one of the most popular holidays. But that doesn't give them the right to neglect thanksgiving

well no one really decorates for thanksgiving.
it's all turkey, turkey, and pie.
maybe that's why you don't see anything in the stores.
go in the grocery stores then you'll see thanksgiving discounts for turkeys.

That's probably because all you get for Thanksgiving is a big meal. With Halloween, at least you get to dress up and steal candy from little kids. With Christmas, you get tons of presents and a big meal. Thanksgiving is just...insignificant. Besides, vegetarians have no objections to Christmas and Halloween.

YEAH! everywhere, like on the stores i see a bunch of halloween makeup and costumes, then in early november they're already selling gift wrapping, santa claus hats, etc like the holiday sections are chalk full of christmas stuff! i'm like "how about thanksgiving?"
but then again, thanksgiving is more of a holiday to be thankful and not buy stuff ohmy.gif and it's hard to decorate for thanksgiving, so there's not much to show, except the food _smile.gif

Who cares?

Everybody hates Thanksgiving anyway. It's just an excuse for everyone to waste their money on tons of food they don't need or even neccessarily want, get drunk, and watch football.

Come on, you know I'm right.

Thanksgiving is a very appreciative day for me! You don't have to decorate for it, and all you do is eat and get lazy on the homework! Yay!

I don't know, you just can't sell Thanksgiving as well as Christmas.

Think about it, the only thing you sell at Thanksgiving is turkey, cranberry sauce, and leftover Hallowe'en pumpkins for pie.

Think about October...CANDY. And pumpkins. And costumes.

And Christmas....gift giving. Need I say more?

Let's face it, no one cares about Thanksgiving because we don't get free stuff.

Why do Canada and US have different dates for Thanksgiving anyways?

(love your little quotation thing! I agree...I. Want. Hockey. Now!)

My school cares about Thanksgiving.
We do can food drives for homeless shelters.
& the weekend before Thanksgiving 8th grade serves Senior Citizens. Everyone in the school makes placemats -- the ones that the little 1st graders do are so cute. :).

Hehe, the Senior Luncheon seems pretty cheesy and boring, but hells, sometimes those scary looking old people smelling senior citizens really brighten up your day. Since, most of the seniors that come don't have family, and love to see kids and those little kid placemats. IDK, it's really sad though, because that's all they have for thanksgiving...

So yeah. Heh.

Did I ever mention that my boyfriend's parents turned on the CHRISTMAS lights on halloween? hahhahah it was hilarious! really random ;x

I saw some thanksgiving decorations.. rarely though. There's not much to celebrate. Thanksgiving is usually an indoors thing and It's more about food, then decorations ;x Dunno.
