No, I don't think I ever would. Sometimes I'll think about it because I'm extremely insecure about my weight, but I don't think I would ever go so far to have an eating disorder.

I had a slight case of Anorexia my Freshman year. I would do excessive exercise and I skipped atleast 2 meals a day. It got to the point where I was 20 pounds underweight and people started noticing that my bones were clearly visible in places they shouldn't be. Over time, I stopped exercising as much and I began to put the weight back on. Three years later, I'm proud to say that I'm at the weight I'm supposed to be and I've never been happier or healthier.

I was anorexic about a year ago due to a combination of low self-esteem and a few things that people I knew had sent to me...it led to me losing 1/3 of my body weight in two months. My parents found out pretty early so it ended after about 3 months, thankfully. Now I love eating :)

However, I get scared to diet nowadays for fear of it kicking back :( Eating disorders suck - suddenly your life is, like, controlled by food or the lack thereof. You're always making excuses to not eat and lying about eating before and stuff, and just walking up two steps made me exhausted =/

I've never had anorexia or bulimia. I like food too much. XD.gif And starving myself or forcing myself to throw up is gross.

^Exactly. I haven't "tried" eating disorders, they are very serious and dangerous. I have gone without eating before but not because I wanted to lose weight, I just wasn't hungry.

Nowdays, I eat probably 2 meals a day. Lunch and Late Night <3

Anorexia is mad scary. One of my best friends was diagnosed with it this past August. She was hospitalized and goes to the hospital 5 days a week still for therapy and such, can't go to school and technially can't do any physical activity that would cause her weight loss, but they can't really monitor it if shes not at the hospital. It was horrible watching her lose all the weight though. She was around 118 pounds and dropped down to 79 pounds within 4 months. Literally lost about 1/3 of her weight.

I hate to think about people doing this, but in a sense, I understand why they do. I've thought about it so much, slightly wanting it just so I'd shed a few pounds, but I know I couldn't actually starve myself. It's more of a jealousy thing, like "Wow, my best friend just lost that much weight that fast... I wish I could do that." But I don't think I'd ever have the guts to actually do it. So I just eat better and work out... takes time though.

Fortunately I have not suffered from any ED so far and dnt think Im prone to it either. But I do have a few friends who are anorexic or bulimic... and I find that its very sad for them. I guess we'll just never know what goes on in their head and what makes them ED victims. blink.gif
This poll reminds me of a very sad story of an ED victim I read, and which I want to share with the forum members, in the hope that it may help few.

that's so sad.
as for me, i've never had an eating disorder. i'm blessed with a super-fast metabolism and pretty good self esteem about my physique so i don't think i'm prone to it anytime soon. man i can't even imagine what it'd be like to go through the whole thing/recovery process.

[random]There's this eating disorder called Pico, I think it's when you eat things that aren't meant to be edible, like glass, charcoal, paper, etc. So eating disorder isn't all about starving yourself to look skinny.[/random]

No I don't think I have an eating disorder, I'm just too lazy to eat lunch but usually I eat a lot.

I love good too much to push myself into an eating disorder. Although I'm thin and slightly underweight, I eat until I'm full, and I eat 3 meals a day (with numerous snacks in between. lol).

I've been called anorexic and bulimic, but to accuse someone of being such is unnecessary. Some girls at my school were anorexic and they looked so emaciated; literally skin and bones. Thankfully though, they got help.

It's sad to see what society and the media has done to distort our brains into thinking that we have to look a certain way in order to be acceptable.

Nah, never had one. I had a friend that had one and I always tried getting her to come to her senses, it never worked of course. Once people start to realize that when you don't eat and your body figures out its starving and you eat after that, the food you just ate is changed into fat instantly. So there isn't any point in starving yourself, the best thing to do is to work out.
