What's your definition of high maintenance? Because apparently I am "high maintenance", and I want to know how i can be....low maintenance.

And I think it means something like its takes high energy to maintain happiness or whatever? Meh.

high maintenance...

it means that you're the type of girl who has higher standards. you want your boyfriend to do what you say, when you say it. you want him to buy you gifts and flatter you. things like that..

it can be good or bad. if you're a desirable high maintenance girl.. it means you're hard to get and guys will desire you more...

if you want to be low maintenance... the only advice i have is to be more easygoing.

Yea, I agree with Melissa, above.

You expect more from guys and you need him to always be around you, maybe even worship the ground you walk on. You have to have him there when you need him. Pretty much expecting alot from your bf.

Also, for some girls that I know are high maintenance, they expect the guy to look very presentable, to act and look the way they (the girls) want them to be.

Requiring a lot of attention. When describing a person, high-maintenance usually means that the individual is emotionally needy or prone to over-dramatizing a situation to gain attention.
High maitenance = high standards = not easily pleased = expects a lot.

2. *but

high-maintenance means you can have high standards .. there are certain guidelines at which one must follow to please or impress you and keep you around. i see nothing wrong with having such standards. the moment you lower the standards the more open you are to accepting second best when you should strive to get the best of everything. accepting half-assed stuff leaves you with no pure drive to get by everyday. never settle.

there is, however, another interpretation of high-maintenance .. in which you need someone to do everything for you (i.e. you're a spoiled brat who is completely dependent) .. that's a no no .. you need to learn to support and provide for yourself. expecting others to do all the work for you is ridiculous. if you're high-maintenance in that regard then you should make sure you are able to satisfy your own needs rather than looking elsewhere for someone to do it for you.

Wow she pretty much said it. High maintenance doesn't always mean your a bad person, though. It just means you are harder to please. I dont think i'm too high maintenance??
