I am currently coding my first Xanga skin, and I just have one problem. I am putting the navigation links in myself, but not with mapping. It's just links. I used a code for this from a tutorial, but when I added the code to the bottom of the rest of all my coding, it showed up in the blog and if I add it to the top, when you first load the page, you can see it for a second, but then it's like the image covers it up or something. If you would like to see my coding or you can help me, please let me know, it would be greatly appreciated! Thankyou soo much! ^__^

so i'm assuming you want the navigation on the left of the blog, right?
you'll just need to fix up the div coordinates. here's a hint: start from the top, when it's in the place you want, go to the next one, after that continue to the next one. the blog should be the last div you edit<<< very important. you seem to be doing fine, though.. just fix your coordinates. start out estimating, finalize them when they're close enough to where you want them to be. btw, in this case, some of your variables will be negative (margin-left: -10px; or something). id do them for you, but then you wouldn't learn anything ;p |

Thankyou soo much! I've been working on the coordinates a lot. Now I got it to show up, but no matter what I change them to, it wont move.. you said that the blog coordinates were the ones I should do last? Hmm.. Maybe if I change those?

you're using 800x600 res. right?
edit: i changed my mind.. i realized that your image has to be done first otherwise it'll cover up your navigation. so do them in order: image, navigation, blog. and remember, once you finalize a div, do not go back to it... otherwise your divs would continue to be misaligned. |
