I sat in bed, staring at the ceiling. My lifelong friend...had passed. What had happened to him? I was supposed to visit him on his birthday...we had the whole evening set up, we'd have a picnic under the stars. But, I wasn't able to make it...it seemed as if fate had wanted him away from me. I stared at the moon and quietly whispered to myself a prayer, " He'll be alright without you! You're staying home tonight...you've been hanging around him too much." My parents had scolded. When I went to his house the next day, I knocked on the door with a picnic basket in hand. The paramedics were there and had told me he had medical problems...I knew what he really died of..a broken heart.
