yes exactly, but a lot of people refer to aquintences as friends

ok, i dont even remember what my point was now

I think your intention was to partly say that people claim friendship too easily when, in fact, the word acquaintance would better describe the relationship. In my opinion, that's very true.

Yeah some people aree acquaintances online, but I have really close friends too.. Online drama is stupid. 'cause with a block, its ended, and they could also just ignore you. Plus, most of the time no one cares, and forget about it the next day. its not your major schedule/problem.

I respect your views on friendship, I just don't agree with or understand them myself.  I'm not trying to personally attack you by saying CB Social groups are weird, but it's just like I don't feel people can aptly judge someone they "know" online.  I mean yeah... I don't really think social groups where they have the "Cool people" and they have drama and shit are actually that good.  Okay I might admit you may have friends online, but social groups??  Online Drama?? c'mon guys..

yah i don't like those types of "social groups" though... both on&offline. i mean it doesn't bother me if people choose to create them because some become part of them without even intending to, you know? social groups create barriers... but in all honesty i don't think there's a way to avoid them.

the part about drama is true though ;X. it can be amusing at times, but pathetic for the most part (both on&offline imo)

QUOTE
yeah, we havent even talked on im or anything. we probably still would not consider eachother friends if we had met, because meeting and talking to a person does not equal friendship.

have you read anything about the difference between a friend and amigo? here in the us people use the term very lightly. someone youve only just met can be considered a friend to some people. but an amigo, which is the traslation, is for many spanish speakers considered to be a true friendshp, rather than, oh look i talked to you so youre my friend. i tend to agree more with that view point, because you cant know someone before getting to know them

yah, i agree just talking to a person & meeting them does not equal friendship... it takes more than that ;o but the basis of that is trust. if you trust them, then it's all good ;o and i agree with the whole aquaintance thing. like i said earlier i don't consider most people on here as "friends"... more like "buddies"/"pal"/"aquaintance". however, from time to time, i use the term "friend" loosely for the sake of convenience.

yeah, thats true, its easier to say friend sometimes than something else, especialy when you cant tell if the other person considers you a friend or not

i kinda agree and disagree. i'm myself on and off of cB but some people are shy in real life and they can make friends easier online than offline. but for me its ok. i like meeting new people.

btw

What I find pathetic are the people here on CB who actually form their own little cliques and think they can act all big and bad because they're "cool" and "popular" in an online forum. I mean, seriously. Some of you really need to get out more...
