i had to raise $1250 for a leadership seminar in D.C.

i didn't raise all of it, but i got about $400 through fundraising.

my fundraising consisted of going to various volunteering organizations and asking for money (this will only work if you have a valid reason for the money)

My supervisor told me about a clever car wash idea she did with a sorority.

Just write "Topless Car Wash" on a sign, and a bunch of people will come in. Now, here's the catch: do the car washing indoors and cover it up and make sure no one can see what's going on inside. Then, when a car comes in to be cleaned, have the girls spray water UNDER the car and not clean the top (thus "topless" car wash). Then tell the owner that to have the top cleaned, he should contribute to your donation.... etc.

The sorority made more than $600 that day.

^^ LOL! What a great idea.

Now if you don't want to try what uninspiredfae suggested, I would suggest like a discount card fundraiser. It's amazing how many people buy them; all the athletes at my old school did it and always seemed to raise a lot of money.

I found a link that hopefully will help you. Here it is:

You can just IMAGINE the disappointment on some people's faces when they find that it's not the kind of topless they wanted. laugh.gif
