A tranquil, yet bitter stare,
Watching the faces around her.
The world as if gagging,
Poisoned by such mephitical fumes.
Each lie she hears from flushed lips,
She finds herself lavishly consumed.
Each honeyed word of praise,
She loses herself in ersatz kisses.
Suspended between cerulean blue eyes,
And voluptuous fantasies of better times.
She finds that every single tantalizing touch,
Masks the true form of excruciating pain.
Heart-break and shattered dreams,
Is found to be painfully ensued.
Lugubrous tears cannot be hidden,
But by the radiant horizon.
In the stars she finds herself,
Immersed in unintended passerbys.
Her unabridged life is like the moon,
Always changing, never true.
